Under the couch

Just added another commission miniature to the Under The Couch gallery.

This guy is a Catachan officer, based loosely on the character of Nick Fury from the Marvel Ultimates universe, with a bit of a 40K bionicised twist.

For anyone interested, you can find the WIP Blog showing how he was put together over on the UTC forums.

The stogie looks a little large, but it may just be the picture. Very nice pose, and I love the base!

wow, even without green stuff your miniatures are great.

Actually, there's a bit of green stuff in there... except that it's grey instead of green.

I've been experimenting with Pro-create, which is similar to green stuff, in that it's a two part epoxy putty, but is a little different to work with. So far, it's been working out well...

On this guy, there's a bit of gap filling here and there (most notably where the left leg is joined on at the hip), a little resculpted detail on the backpack, and the face is entirely resculpted from the eyebrows down. It's just not as obvious as with green stuff, as the pro-create is grey and blends into the plastic.

The head is from the Empire Flagellant set:

Quote nice but not really 'Nick Furyesque' Without the title I'd have never thought of Nick, he's more about the skin tight leather with 100 straps and buckles.

But that said and amazing peice.

Ultimate Nick Fury is the baldy with the patch, but I recall seeing him more in
suits.

Now if you could do a conversion using an ogre or ogryn and a Space Marine of some sort and create the diaroma of Ultimate Hulk trying to eat Ultimate Iron Mans head that would just be swell.

Nic Fury strikes me as more Cadian than Catachan.  Actually, now that I think about it, the Van Saar from Necromunda would be a great place to start a Nic Fury model.
