Alright, warning done, here are the two main NPC's for my campaign, Lord Salan (Linus Salandiel, Fallen Angel) and Inquisitor Lord Theonin of the Ordo Malleus.  I have had the angel in mind for a long time for the Angels Apocalypse an any I will do someday, so that was easy for me image-wise.  It may not look overly converted, but the backpack actually is quite a consruct and there is some sculpting where the wings go on.

I didn't have anything handy for an inquisitor and don't own any inquisitor models, so I spent some time looking at the images on tne codex and came up with this.  Spent more "break from the Tomb Kings" time than I should have on it, but it was fun!  Comments are welcome of course.

Add just a bit more mass to the head of the hammer on the Inquisitor. Also, an =I= seal on the face of the hammer is always a nice touch. You can picture it stamped into the skull of those who oppose him.

I don't like Inquisitors that look like Space Marines. I think it's a fundamental imagery glitch.

The fallen angel looks quite perfect for what you have in mind for the campaign!

Thanks for the comments. Interesting that others are seeing more in the =I= and Migs is not a fan. It's like he was just saying in his Twar thread. People are amazingly different in their aesthetics!

Phryxis: MORE mass?? I thought it was too big. Oh well, I guess I won't worry about that any more.

I've never been a huge fan of power armored inquisitors myself.  But with enough iconography and the right kind of paint scheme you can really get them to look rather brooding.  Any thoughts for the paint on these two?  (can't comment much on modeling x.x...not really my strong point...)

I would put a back of some sort on the hammer, otherwise it would look imbalanced. Either a second head, or a bec-de-corbine. If it doesn't have something on the back it looks too imbalanced, and sort of reminds me of a stethescope.

"Ok, Heretic! In the name of the Emperor I command you to take deep breaths!"
"OOOHHH!! It's so cold!"
"Silence, vile one! Perhaps if you repent I will warm it with my breath!"

Hammers without a back to the head just look funny. At least to a medieval geek like me

For me, at least, I think the deal with Inquisitors who look like Space Marines isn't the aesthetic itself, but the direct invitation to compare scale that it presents. When I see a normal human wearing basically unmodified SM armour, and it fits him just as it does an actual SM, it sets off "WTF human giant??" alarms in my head. To overlook it requires effort.

Sorry to sound like I'm hopping on a bandwagon, but I'm also a strong disliker of space marine PA on inquisitors. In fact, the PA inquisitor GW released was too large in scale (even Torqemunda was too big, although it was sculpted so well and had such form fitting armour it made up for that issue). I'm a big fan of the witch hunters inquisitor models- they're far more human looking.

If you're going to use space marine armour I'd cut it down to be thinner, shorter and smaller-footed.

The angel looks nice, but are the wings going to be actual flesh and blood things or metal?

I don't mind him being bigger. Did you see his freaking pipes!? He's a giant.

Thanks for the comments on the hammer. I just looked again and agree it needs something in the back.

As far as painting goes, I am thinking a red, gold and white look. Of course I always seem to be painting red, gold and white, so maybe I should mix it up a little.

The head is from an Empire knight.

Anyway, thanks for the thoughts.
