Finally finished all 20 of my death korps grenadiers. I did the same lasgun/ marine plasma pistol conversion for the plasma guns, since each unit cost about $70, I was too cheap to spend extra for their real models Actually, I was expecting them to be about $50 but I calculated wrong and though pounds were euros.. oh well

I (mostly) dusted off an old display base for the first pic, hoping an in action shot will hide the suckyness of my camera. The 2nd one is a close up of a couple models.

They will eventually get a chimera for each unit, but right now my wallet is glued shut till the baneblade is released

Wadaya think?

they look great ^_^!

The contrasting masks definitely put the icing on the solid paint scheme cake.

I really dig these models too...damned IG getting all kinds of cool models that I'll never have time to paint!!

Good work Necros! It would be fun to see a banablade suitably themed for Dkok.

Very cool. I have been doing a similar thing with my plasma guns. The FW minis are pretty slick, and its nice to see them 'in action' so to speak.

Bananablade, indeed!

Great work Necros, and those really are the cream of the Korps IMO, even though the new quartermaster might give them a run for their / my money ")

thanks

Well my baneblade isn't gonna be a DK baneblade, it's gonna be an inquisition baneblade since in my army's fluff they're the real leaders.. it'll be black like my other tanks and sort of like the fortress of arrogance but not as pretty. Planning to build it normal and then just for looks have an extra removable top attachment for the inquisitor and his buddies to stand. if I can pull it off, it'll have some side "sponsons" with some heavy stubber gunners. Gotta invest in some plasicard

Out of curiosity, did you leave the power cables off of the hellguns? I can't make them out from the pics.
I was just wondering because when I looked at getting some grenadiers, the separate cabling struck me as kinda fiddly...

Thanks!

Yeah I left the cables off. They were a real pain and I just gave up trying to get them to fit. Every single one was too short. I dunno, maybe I didn't attach the guns in the exact right spot for it to work. I've been trying to find a suitable replacement that I can cut to the size I need but so far nothing seems to work. I was going to try some really small speaker wire but the smallest I could find was still too big

Why don't you use the old trick of coiling one wire around another wire held in a jewller's saw? An appropriate size should be achievable with thin enough wire.
