I would firstly like to apologize for the very strange subject title i have for this thread. On to the actual news, however... I was in my "friendly" local Games Workshop at Arizona Mills Mall in AZ yesterday. For those of you that don't know, that shop is closing on the 27th of September. While i was there, I saw that they were actually having a SALE on all blister products (25% off) until the 26th!

I believe its due to the fact of the store closing, so that they have less to move when the time comes. I don't know about anyone else, but I have never seen Games Workshop ever put out a sale on their products. Forgive me if it's not as shocking to everyone else as it is to me. My wallet is much happier, however...

They haven't had a sale in years. I think (but i'm by no means certain) it was something to do with their lord of the rings contract. However, i'm sure i saw a grand opening (do you veterans remember these? Amazing deals to be had) advertised somewhere recently too. Maybe the terms of the contract have changed?  Does anyone know more?

The whole "we can't have sales because of the New Line contract" was a whole heap of bologney. A smokescreen to hide the fact that the REAL reason was because they believed the customer was "price insensitive" and wouldn't buy any more just because the unit price reduced.

Recent disappearing profits have put the lie to this however. The contract with New Line certainly hasn't changed any.

Cheers
