I just looked at the GW website to call in my spot at regionals. As I did so I realized the sheer number of stores participating. In Excel it came up as 259, which means 777 people advanced to round 2. This means each regional participant needs to host 38.85 people. I heard mention in one of the GW bunkers that battle points are going to stack in each round. I wonder if this is true because I see the top positions separated by no more than a point or two in most cases and this may be crucial to keep people in the running until the end. Orion

Some places are going to be more packed than others, for instance if you lived in California such as I do, you've got 2 places for the semi-finals, neither are in high density population areas so you're forced to travel 2 to 3 hours to the game locations. But.... now that I realized I already starting whining, haha, we had 30 store locations to start with, and just 2 semi-final spots to play, 90 advancing players so our pond has a lot of fish in it 45 each. I'm sure attrition due to the long drive and people forgetting or not being able to make the date will make it a bit smaller, but sheesh. And other states like Hawaii don't even have a semi-final location I doubt many will go to the semi-finals from that state.
Hey maybe we can set up a poll and vote how many people will actually attend the finals?! The absolute max number is 81 from what I can tell. I bet 62 people show.

If I make it to the finals, I will definitely be there. There is some really talented players in my region, so it will be really tough to make it to the finals anyways. Lots of top players will be at the Semis location near me.

Points do not stack. 1.) It does not say so in the rules. 2.) The tournament organizer did not write the total number of points on my ticket.
We have 60+ that could attend our one regional location within a 5 hour drive. They can hold fewer than that. They will turn people away. Register early. (Now)

Every organizer was supposed to record and turn in battle points.

stacking would be silly. just because you smoked some chumps in the first round. shouldn't help in the next.

POINTS DON'T STACK! There is nothing in the rules about points stacking from locals to regionals. As a local tournament site I was not instructed to either keep the points, or turn them into GW. As a regional organizer, I haven't been instructed to use the scores from the last round in any way for deciding regional winners.

I have some questions, I asked GW, and I got a different answer each time i asked about the Ard Boyz event. The big one was do we have to use the same list we used in the 1st event, I was told no by one person, yes by another, and no, but we need to use the same codex that we used, unless your chaos? Any one know the official answer? I'd hate to change my army a bit and find out I can't use it.

That's the official word from the guys that designed the event, wrote the missions, and are officially in charge of the event. You can change your list, your codex, anything in your army. No one is keeping track of what you ran at locals, no list is being sent to the people running regionals. I've confirmed this now with the tournament organizers 3 times, and I'm running a regional tournament at my shop.

The reason I even participated is the semi's are right down the street. I would like to go to Baltimore but even if that happens I need to see if a friend of mine can get a discounted ticket.

Wow, it must be nice to actually have people who orginized this know what they are doing. The store here, (only one store in all of New Mexico), the guy didn't know any of the special rules, didn't have any terrain, only had 3 tables available, and hasn't given any feedback to those who qualified. The real sad part of all of this, there were two other stores who wanted desperatly to host the event but GW said "no." It was based upon reginal sales and the store who did host it, had the highest in the region.
Now, if I want to go, I have to travel to Phoenix, AZ to play in the second round. Oi! Remember, the grass is always greener...

?? That's really odd. For the first round, any store could run it. If 3 stores in NM wanted to run it, they should have been able to. For the regionals GW picked locations, not from sales, but more from who could hold that many people, and had the tables, terrain, and staff, to run them.

That's funny, because the regional tourney here in Florida is going to be held at a tiny store. I am still trying to figure out how they are going to fit all those people in there. GW chose this smaller store over the bigger store in the area. Go figure. I am willing to bet that the amount of terrain is going to be sparse. Capt K
