So yes, Halo 3 is awesome and even exceeds the hype, as most of you well know.

I played that level with toof and Anpu and a few others. One of my best MP experiences ever. I don't know who the other teams was, but they must have sucked, because we RAPED them.

I've been enjoying the online co-op but got a chance to mess around with other online games last night for about two hours and it was a blast. The screenshot and movie thing doesn't seem like a big deal, but is actually a really cool add-on.

Oh, I will. Playing with reasonably (<-- key word) mature folks for some fun games is way better than testing the waters of the unclean. It just makes the experience much more pleasant

Sounds fun. I have been resisting the temptations of video games for quite some time, apart from the occasional PS  football/basketball tournaments with my brother... but  the way  the games and consoles are developing I'll soon lose.

FPS with a controller aside, Halo 3 sounds like a ton of fun. Read up on all the multiplayer options, and 4 player co-op looks amazing! 2 player was where Halo 1 was for me, but 4 player would be so good ...

Thankfully no money for 360 + halo, but wow, I hope my friends with 360s don't mind me staying at their place for a bit ...

Beat the game this afternoon, awesome ride. Though you have to beat it on legendary to see the "whole" ending, which is entirely worth it like x10.

Or you can be a panzy like me and watch it on Youtube, but I'm going to try and beat it on legendary, I hope.

This past Sat. 6 of us got togeather at a friends house, all networked our 360's togeather, then went on live and played multi-player all day. We started at 11am.

60+ games later it was suddenly 11pm. Where does the time go?!?

In addition to all the tactical goodness that is the various serious missions, there is a game varient called "Rocket Race" that we downloaded from Bungie.net and tried. It is crazy fun with 4 two man teams.

I just got my 360 and halo yesterday and have it online? How do i find users from dakka online?? is there a place here where people leave their online user names etc?? I am not very good.

Meh, i dont see the point of the 360. A 300$ system that will get the Red ring of death in a few months anyway. Microsoft does like those colored death icons... I can just download a game on any console and play it on a emulator, if they have made one yet. Sure, i dont get halo 3 online on my comp, but its 360$ cheaper, and i can play mods on halo CE or Halo 2 for the pc that has everything halo 3 has with better graphics... And doesnt cost 15$ a month. Just my opinion i guess. Comps ftw ^^.

I thought i did use periods... I don't see anywhere i didn't. That and I am being polite... I thought. Im simply stating my opinion. Am i saying their opinion is wrong? Am i saying they are idiots for holding their opinions? No and No. So, if you could, please explain how i wasn't being polite? Do i have to be a 360 fanboy to post about 360 things? And is talking about internet piracy against the Forum rules? If so, i will reframe from doing so in future. But i dont see anywhere that i was being impolite. If i was in any way impolite and missed it, please point that out. But i feel I'm allowed to be negative to a consumer product without not being polite.

well most people here are negative about GW so i dont see why you cant be negative about the 360. Maybe it would be better if you were just negative about Jervais

I think the critique was that you were talking about the system and the thread is is about the game. It's a grey area to be sure. Of course you can see how the derailment has led to Beef not talking about Halo either. See?

Still, I don't think you could build a PC that would run Halo 3 or Gears of War in HD for less then the 360. If you don't like consoles that's fine, just say so, don't try to make it sound like others that do are idiots, which seems implied in your statement. Also Live, if that is what you are reffering to, is not $15 a month (if you aren't talking about live I don't know what you are talking about), it is $50 a year.

Ok, 50$ a year, thanks for the correction. Still, i have to pay for it... Yes, its impossible to get a comp that can play halo 3 and gears of war for the 360 at the cost of the core, and maybe the higher lvl one, i forget its name, not the elite, but higher then core... But i can still build a decent comp with better specs then the 360 for the price of a elite though.

If i sounded like i was being negitive to those who own a 360 im sorry, i didnt really intend it that way. It would cost about double the amount of the elite, maybe 1250$, that can run a Halo 3 mod on Halo CE/2 at higher then Halo 3 settings. To run halo 3 on a emulator will take a damn good comp, maybe 2-3k, since you need at least 5x the system specs. Dang lazy emulator coders.

But im not saying the 360 isnt a bad console. Im getting it... as a 5th priority. 4 other things ahead of it, two of em GW related. Apocalypse will bankrupt me i bet.

It's not that you were pointing out negatives, it was the tone used combined with the fact that you advocated pirating games (a no-no here on Dakka) and used ellipses (three periods in a row which denotes a blank or a 'to be continued' situation), which is a form of l33t speak (and not tolerated here on Dakka). 

You may not have realized how your post came across; writing text can sometimes convey meanings that you don't intend.  I often re-read any sort of critical post that I make to ensure that I'm not conveying something that I don't mean.  It just seemed like you were jumping in here to start bashing instead of contributing.

OK, piracy is a no-no, I'll keep that in mind. I speak with full grammar, and I never even heard of the ... being leet. Interesting bit of knowledge. I'll keep that in mind too. I'll try to stop it from happening again.

I would not have said the ellipsis is l33t. It's a standard typographical character which has been used for decades to indicate trailing sentences, brief omissions and the like. Also used in manga (by the Japanese) to indicate a pregnant pause.

It's the way of using it that makes it l33t or not.
