I got a lot of this spam e-mail how to increase the size of my minis. But I don't like pills that much and they shouldn't be that good so I searched a bit and found the work of migs the mighty. The problem is I cannot cut of the termis legs because there is a lot of stuff I have to cut through. So here is my suggestion. If you have any better ideas please let me know.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Can you add something to the knees?

I've never seen one up close before, looks cool.

Smaller heads == bigger body.

Aquapumpinator, any one?

But in all seriousness, can you show him next to a normal termi?

I think the torso section works well. The platforms don't bother me. Let's see how it all looks finished.

My God. The detail on that thing is awful. So not-crisp. This is what we have in store for the future I think. I'm getting out of GW and I'll find something else. I'm disgusted

Torso and shoulders are great, boots bug me. I think Tacobake is right abotu adding to the knee section if you can.

But, because he is Chaos, his Platform Shoes have goldfish in the heels...

But sadly the three eyed goldfishes are dead.
So these are the posibilities:

No disco.

little Disco

Disco Stu Extreme.
But these are way over my skill when it comes to green stuff. So I won't go with them I think little Disco will make it and after the paint job I'll see how it works out. I also got a litle collection of bitz I want to add to the belt cause it looks empty. What do you think?

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

To boost a miniatures size you need to add to the arms legs and body seperately.

The problem with this is that the more you add the more out of proportion he gets. You can get away with this up to a point with armour as it encases the body and therefore need not be anatomically aligned, so long as a human shape can fit within. You get an even bigger leeway with chaos.

However....

Adding platofrm shoes and a bigger belt does not longer legs make. Because the distance between hip and knee and knee and ankle becomes incrasingly out of line. Ideally you need to add filler to the leg sections above and below the knee alongside boot and hip increases. There same goes for the arms, and maybbe even the neck.

The second problem now lies with bulking out the miniture. addtyo much and the marine within doesnt get bigger, he just gets lanky.

Frankly I think its too much work escept for a character miniature. Marines will not all be the same size, so there is no reason why a vet sgt could not be an extra 12" taller than a regular battle brother. But I would keep it to the odd change, unless you want to imply chaos inspired growth.

Here are some true scale marine links. Note how the entire marine has been bulked up rather than sections added here and there:

@Orlanth
I'd love to do this but it lies out of my capability.

For the rest here is a foto of the progress so far. I recognized after taking it, that the belts need more green stuff. I'll do that tomorrow and finish then the first guy. I hope I can use all colours I need. I haven't touched them in a year.

First one almost done. Varnish will be the final touch. To go with the Fantasy Chaos Warrior heads was not planed but they look much better than the original ones. I will post again when the other 4 are finished.

Looks pretty damn convincing when painted. Nice.

I was doubtful when I saw the wip pics, but paint really makes the conversion convincing. Could we see some scale shots with unmodified chaos termies, the metals and/or regular plastic chaos marines?

That came out well. Termie proportions are so wacked anyway, that I would not worry much about leg length and so on. The painting is nice too. A couple small suggestions: drill out the barrel and paint the stuff on your bases. Like the models themselves, it needs highlights and shadows to convey scale.

Wasn't sure about the lifts but those and the mid-section spacing blend seamlessly. Looks very imposing compared to the 3rd ed. termies.

Those are the latest Chaos Terminator releases? Really?

...and people presumabely pay money for these? Seriously?

Wow

Those are horrible. They're like the Battlemasters of terminators.

I'll stick with my old 2nd edition Chaos Termies.

Looks really good, though the first thing I thought was "How does the terminator turn his head with those horns?" Irrelevant, I know, just the first thing I thought.

So this is the end. Felt really good to paint after a year of abstinence. I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome.
A little review on the terminator kit. Shoulder pats don't seem made to fit and you should prime the model before you glue them on. Thanks for all your commentary some was pretty helpful.

@Tacobake
No Chaos Terminator Lords were harmed in the process of making these conversions.

They seem a little shiny. Are you going to go over with matt varnish to get rid of that, or do you want them shiny?
