Hi all,

Been quite a while since I last posted anything painted. The stealth suits last week don't count. Bought these guys on a whim and painted them up. They're really nice sculpts, and paint up very well. I thought the LCs looked kinda goofy when they first came out, but after painting these up, they kinda look alright. Still don't quite like the knuckleduster look, but that aspect can be hidden sufficiently with a little clever painting.

As with all my stuff, painted with Vallejo Acrylics and the GW Foundation Paints. The Foundation Paints are fantastic, only word of warning is to go easy on it, as too many layers of the stuff will rapidly obliterate details, it is *really* thick.

Anyway, enough babbling, on to the photos!:

If you like/dislike them, then vote on CoolMiniOrNot:

And if you *really* like them, go have a look at my eBay auction:

All other comments and criticisms very much appreciated!

Cheers

Very clean and straight forward paint. Good attention to detail. The lettering on the front of the shield looks a bit crooked though. And I'm not sold on the coloring for the bases.   The colors seem to suggest Blood Ravens more than Blood Angels too.

Overall though, solid job.

Really nice job, I like the addition of the cream color to the palette. Breaks up all that red and makes them more interesting.

One quibble, though, is that (and maybe this is just the pictures) the edges of the armor could use a little highlighting. They appear to be a litte soft on the edges, maybe adding that brighter red highlit edge would help things a bit, same with a harder white highlit edge on the cream color portions.

I like the stone efect you've done on the shields, makes them look very heavy and durable, nice touch.

I'm not really into following the Codex Astartes, I picked a scheme I thought would look good and be fun to paint. They're not exactly Blood Angels per se, but that's the easiest way to describe them. Understandably, the bone shoulderpad and shinguard combo isn't what a canon BA player would approve of >_<. In any case, I purposely left the insignias off the shoulderpads, so whoever buys them can paint on whatever insignia they want.

- The armour is indeed not very highlighted around the edges. It's a stylistic point of mine, I never liked the highlighted-edges look, so I prefer to highlight in a more... organic (?) manner. There's white highlights along the cream areas as well, and I deliberately kept them subtle.

I was a little torn for the colour of the bases. My original intention was to do a faux-marble finish, but due to various constraints, I ended up gluing the termies onto their bases, making it very difficult to paint the bases up nicely (or easily, for that matter).

Thanks, and keep the comments coming guys!
