Easy question, really.  Was just wondering if the two mix together well, because it'd make highlighting my Alpha Legion a lot easier.

Thanks

Somewhere in south-central England.

There are different types of paints. The most common for modelling are acrylic which are water based and enamel which are oil based. Enamels come in matt or lovely gloss finish. Acrylics tend to have a soft sheen. Most people use acrylics now because they are water washable and non-toxic.

Never Ever Ever mix enamels and acrylics! It is not as bad as crossing the streams, but it will cause a nasty mess of your model.

If you want a good gloss finish, there are mixers you can add to standard acrylics to make gloss or matt finishes (and do other neat stuff.) You can get them a good arts supply shop. Check it out on the web first at the Liquitex or Rowney or other artist's paint manufacturer site.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
