I"m about to buy a Baneblade for my Black  Legion, apoc games and such and was wondering what ideas you guys have to "chaosify" it. Black legions not to big on corruption so its not going to be some big hulking fester on the galaxy. But I do need to think of a way to make it not just a baneblade painted black and gold.......

So, any ideas would be apreciated Dakkites, thanks.

make it a baneblade painted black and gold with spikes......

no, seroisly, as far as black legions goes, I would just use some of the chaos vehicle bitz, like the dragon heads on all heavy bolters and lascannoens.

The Heavy bolters on the BaneBlade are a bit smaller than what we are used to seeing on a GW tank kit, so the Dragon Head muzzle swap would be a bit over sized.

Not much on the kit is Imperial, a few tank treads & the chapel at the back are the only obvious parts. One thought for conversion is to replace the side armored plates with some sort of chaos symbol. Or skip the plates & build up armored cables and such out of guitar wire - just like the old power armored suits the warriors wear.

I think there are a couple of 2-word answers to this question:

Spikey Bitz, Legion Emblems, and *maybe* Chaos Icons

Also, paint it hot pink.

Seriously, a giant hulking battle tank that's hot pink. That's random.

PS. That hot pink thing was a joke
PPS. But if you want to go with it go nuts.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

you can get some of those brass etchings from FW

It doesn't take a lot of spikes and totems to jazz something up.

When I think of Chaos Baneblades I think of chains and trophies impaled on spikes along the sides. Living trophies.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

1. Remove all aquilas of course.

2. Add spikes and chaos icons

3. There is a lovely conversion on the GW main site, look up space marine command squads and look for the traitor command squad. someone made a chaos standard by taking a normal standatrd and cut a chaos star out of it, then added green stuff on the triangles around it. Let me snatch a link:

http://uk.games-workshop.com/spacemarines/converted-cmd-sqd/7/

Use the effect on the standard bearer for one of the side panels.

4. You know the riveted arrows chaos armies like, replace the protected flanges on the fringe of the track arches with them.

5. Use a CSM as the tank commander.

I dont think any CSM legion except Death Guard are 'into' corruption. Its just a hazard/?perk? of the job.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

I always used to drill out the chaos weapon heads and just use the fat one for a heavy bolter cover, cut the bottom jaw off and use the top part. That was with the older chaos vehicle sprue, I think the new heads are to skinny for that.

Spikes and skulls = chaos right?

Just don't make it look like the on over on a certain other 40k site where they painted an anime angel on the side... ugh.

The chaos chains on the sides would look great and maybe a couple icons here and there. Remember, traitors kill the commissar first so you could always string up a commissar as an icon in dedication to the gods.
