Hi folks,
I want to include a second squad of dark reapers in my army but am still struggling how to convert an exacrh with a missle launcher. I don't use the new minis, because I prefer the 3rd edition ones (the ones with the skull helmets). I have one exarch with the shuriken cannon and wanted to convert a Death Jester to be my second exarch. The problem is that these too minis are metal and a missle launcher in the same size category is hard to buy (as far as i know! Help appreciated!).
Second problem is that I don't have any experience with metal convertions.

So any ideas, tips, guides, pics or else would greatly help. Or would you simply suggest to get the new exarch with the missle launcher option?

I converted a Death Jester to hold a metal missile launcher (you could always use a plastic one too).

1) Clip/saw off the right hand and shrieker cannon grip near the base of the gun.
2) Clip off the rounded circular-nub (where you would mount the missile launcher) and make it flush with the bottom of the launcher.
3) Turn the missile launcher upside down (so the missile pod is facing away from the DJ - pointing to his/her left).
4) Fix the clipped off right handed firing mechanism (from step 1) to the tail end of the missile launcher.
5) Glue/Pin the left hand vertical grip to the bottom (now the top) of the missile launcher (it is pointing to his/her left and is flush against the body).
6) Glue/Pin the right hand from 1 and 4 to the wrist.
7) Fill in gaps with greenstuff.

OR

1) Clip/off the shrieker cannon's barrel.
2) Clip/off the missile launcher pod.
3) Pin t he missile pod onto the shrieker cannon - where the barrel used to be.

when I made one I cut a piece off of a metal EML, carefully cut out the Shuriken Cannon, leaving all the pipes and everything else behind, and then glued the EML in where the Shuriken Cannon was.

It's a very satisfying conversion, it takes a bit of work with a jeweler's saw and it is relatively straightforward.

Thanks a lot, but isn't the plastic missile launcher from the vehicle sprue a bit big?

Or are there other missile launchers around?

The one on the left is still armed with a Shuriken Cannon, the one on the right is the EML conversion.

Perhaps you could find someone who's using the new Exarch with the tempest launcher and get the spare EML bit from him? That one would work a bit better for Tacobake's conversion scale-wise, since it is after all meant for the purpose.

Sorry for the Captain Obvious suggestion, but that's really all you can do if you're worried about the scale, I think. All other EMLs are huge.
