Quick question.... where do you get plasticard from and how do you make it round?

Right behind you...

Depends on where you live.  In parts of Europe, Schleiper (www.schleiper.be) carries large sheets (like 2x3 feet) of it as well as smaller sections of various thicknesses.  In the States, most large hobby stores have some selection of it.  Also try art supply stores.  If you live in a city with an architectural school, then there will definitely be a store somewhere that has plasticard, foamcore and other goodies that architecture student use for their projects.  Ask the prof. or a student. Hope that helps.

As for making it round...  not sure what you mean.  Cutting circles out of it?  Or plastic rods?  Plastic rod is also usually sold in the places I mentioned.

When I can't get the size from my local guy I always go to Walthers.com. So a search for styrene (which is what it is called in the US). Loads of stuff.

Making it round is a touch more difficult. Easy way is to get an apropriately sized round drill and cut it out. More difficult - trace a circle and cut it with a hobby knife and sand until smooth.

I have trouble cutting straight - so I don't try round...

Instead of using a pencil use an Xacto knife.  The finished circle will have a pinpoint in the center when you're done, but that's usually not that big of a deal.

Oh and I use Evergreen Styrene usually

Do you mean cylinrical?

Sheet styrene has a reasonably low melting temp, if you heated it with a hair dryer and then wrapped it around a mandrell (a piece of pvc pipe) , taped it in place it would keep that shape

styrene also comes in cylinders and rods and beams and so on and so on...
look for stores that sell model cars, trains etc. and you should be able to find it.
