I finally got to run my new Chaos army against a buds Orks.  Both armies were using new codex rules, and the resulting game would make almost any cynic about GW think about getting either one of these armies.
I don't have enough time to write down a full battle report, but here are some highlights for both sides:

   Chaos high points:
Defiler destroyed a truckload of boyz in one shot

Havocs fire up and break a kommando squad with the help of obliterators

Slaanesh sorcerer lashes the survivors of the truck into flamer and close combat range of a chaos squad, initiating four rounds of cc in which the squad and sorcerer wipe out 30 orks.(another Ork squad joined in)

14 Plague marines stand up to the charge of thirty boyz, 2 nobz, and a wierdboy and wipe them out in several rounds of combat, losing only 7(feel no pain is huge for these guys!)

The chaos spawn more than earned their points back slashing a 20 strong boyz mob to pieces.

Leadership 10 for marines make them extremely hard to break or pin.  I never failed a check all game

Ork high points:

Like dufus dumbbutt, I forgot I gave my sorcerers flight, until almost the end of the game.  Between that and poor placement of a squad of marines and a second sorcerer I spotted my bud the cost of 10 marines and a powerful character for the game.

The defiler's moment of glory ended with a penetrating hit from an ork buggy's rocket.

an ork battlewagon with a big arsed cannon was doing nasty thing to my marines for a couple turns.

a Kopta managed to fly into my havocs and tie them up for almost the whole game.  I forgot how fast those critters fly.  By the time they killed it, a truckload of cyborks waded into them and finished them off.

the obliterators couldn't find their own butt with both hands and a map after turn one and were wiped out in cc with a truckload of cyborks.(the same one that did for the havocs)

Orks very well timed fof made things sticky.

weirdboy psycic powers prove very nasty indeed.

The game was a massive bloodbath and by the time it was over, I was left with a squad of Plague marines, a squad of undivded marines, and two sorcerers.
The Orks didn't look much better, but the units that survived were more high dollar than mine, so my bud won the game.
I have to say that even though I lost, it was a blast playing with the new codexes.  As a former Iron Warrior player, I have no complaint  on the new Chaos codex now that I've had a chance to play a game using it.
I also know quite a few Ork players are going to be very happy with the new Ork codex if the rumors are true about it.

i played a 1k game the other day pitting plague marines vs a mob of orks. It's ugly between orks attacks due to blight grenades the mix of toughness 5 and FNP is quite nasy indeed.

Sounds like a fun game. One thing:
Defiler destroyed a truckload of boyz in one shot

Doesn't seem too likely to me. Did you guys forget the Ramshackle rule?

Doesn't an ordnance penetrate result of "6" destroy all passengers onboard regardless?

In 5th ed, there is no longer a different penetrating chart for ordnance. You roll 2d6 and take the highest.

Everything on the trukk will take a Str 3 AP - hit, but it's no longer annhilated.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1
