Nice try, but I'm not going to trust any of that moldy old fluff where mortal champions of chaos and daemons work together.
I mean, some of the playable Fantasy Army Books allow sub-lists! Sub-lists for goodness sakes! I can barely tell Tomb Kings from Vampire Counts, so if if some undead player wants to have a special army, he just paint his Von Carstiens or whatever in a different color scheme.
Plus, the Fantasy books are way too confusing. While a lot of a characters options are on the same page as the character, the rules keep alluding to a list of options on another page that I can select. These so called Magical items must be magical if they can be taken from another page.
Look, designer freedom is one thing, but those books are simply far too confusing to be of any use to an actual gamer.
edit: In case anybody is curious, I am of course being sarcastic.
