Liko's industrial tower system is out with 30% discounts for orders over US$500 (approx 23 UK Pounds)

Cool idea but way too plain for the price they're asking.

A sheet of MDF board, some plasticard, and access to a jigsaw for a few hours would give you the same (or better) effect for about 1/8 of the full $500 set

Yeah, but that's true of most terrain. There is some benefit to spending the money and having a complete board's worth of terrain in one go. Personally, they are a bit overpriced, but I may pick up one (or two) of the towers for $14.99.

Yes and no. While most terrain is expensive, sets like the CoD terrain, Pegasus gothic line, or even Platformer at least have some ornamentation or at least the basic "industrial" looks. They're more than simply pre-cut, unembellished plywood. If you spent $15-30 on some MDF and plywood, you could achieve something far more detailed than this.

I agree. For $500 it should at least be prepainted...

It's a neat system, and one that will probably find buyers who don't want to get a scroll saw, but it's simply too plain for the cost. There's too much good terrain out there now to release this sort of stuff at that price tag and expect a ton of sales.

Even the original necromunda card stock terrain is better than this, and its just card stock....

I can get a boatload of necromunda card stock terrain for $500...

At $70/set + tax you can get 5 sets of Necromunda card stock terrain for $500. This is actually a much better value. That has more to do with the absurd price of the Necromunda card stock terrain than it does with this stuff though.

I'd probably get some towers, but not an entire set.

I don't think that table is $500, the $500 figure is a discount for ordering $500 worth of stuff of your choice.

At $15 a tower it's less than anything I can think of buying. Scratch building is of course another story.

I'd get these and some Pegasus sets to trim them.

You should write an article for Dakka called

As bad as the US dollar is doing lately, it's not $500 to 23 GBP.

They mean either $50 or 230 GBP, as the conversion rate is roughly that.

I keep vacillating on these. They're okay, but are they better than the pegasus stuff plus the Armorcast stuff? Sure, they're cheaper, but how much work would you have to put in to detail 'em? Depending on how much time I'd have to take, I might be better of with foam-core 'blanks' (forget who sells those) or scratchbuilding.

They might be worth getting a few pieces for (as KK said) to combine with the aforementioned resources and orking up for Gorkamorka or messing around with for a 4x4 table.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

the set that matchs the image you posted (ITS_ULTIMATE) is listed as regular price $500, marked down to $350 with the 30% discount.

The wall pieces probably do a good job distracting the eye
from the plain boards.

It looks like a $500 "chutes and ladders" game.

What sort of terrain is that supposed to represent?
