I haven't played in WH40k in about 1 year and I've finally decided to sell some my units.

I have a Tau army, over £300 worth of models alone, it's resonably well painted. About 1500-1700 points are painted, and theres about 300-500 points still in their boxes (1x devil fish, 2x firewarrior, 3x tau heavy sniper guys, 5x path finders)

I don't have the list with me atm, but I think I can remember whats in it.

These are all the painted units

1x Tau commander in battle suit
4x 8xv battle suits
32x firewarriors
6x path finders
1x Devilfish
1x hamerhead tank
3x Stealth suits (the old ones)
19x kroot
1x krootox
22x drones
2x broadside battle suits

Unpainted/Still in box
1x Devilfish (sealed in box)
2x Firewarrior (1 sealed in box, other in box,but open)
3x Pathfinders blisters (sealed)
3x Tau Heavy Sniper guys (assembeled, unpainted)

I'm looking for a Price check on all this so I have some idea what to set reserve as for my ebay auction.

Thanks

Honestly, the army is worth nothing and it is worth everything.

Value is placed by the individual. It's worth nothing to me. I don't play Tau and have no intent or desire to. To someone wh your army resonates perfectly with, it might be worth near-retail. maybe they want to paint as little as possible.

My suggestion, born of experience, is to decide what the lowest amount is that you'd be willing to take for it.
If you went to the local game Store & set it out on the table accepting offers, what is the absolute LOWEST offer you'd accept for it?

THAT is your opening bid.
Skip reserves. They chase more people away than not.
Some people choose to say what the reserve is in their auction text... Then why even use it?

Make the opening bid the least amount you'd be happy to take for it and be happy if/when the army goes above that.
Alternatively, there is the mindset that says to separate the painted from the unpainted. Sell the painted as a painted army & sell the rest as individuals or a big group of "NIB" (or whatever).

Personally, I'd paint up those sniper drones & list them with the painted army (they're a popular unit) and put everything else as a "NIB" lot.

Hope this helps.

My painting sucks, I bought the army painted, so I wouldn't bother painting them. I also don't have the time anymore, which is why I'm selling it, I've got a 1/2 pained/primed/assembled nid army too and the inquisition side of my WH army that needs to be painted/assembeled too + some random chaos guard army

You'd probably have a better chance selling them split up then together. I'd also suggest starting the bidding at about %40 of the original cost, maybe %50.
