honestly, I sometimes get the feeling I'm the only person in my city that plays 40k [or warhammer in general]

So post here if you're in the central Ohio area and wanna play a game!

What do you mean by "Don't exactly have an army"? like small army, fantasy proxies, or downright green army men IG?

The Guard Tower on Trabue Rd usually has 40K nights on Monday I believe. Also, there's a few guys that I've seen playing at the Hobbeytown USA on North Hamilton Rd in the Gahanna/New Albany area. I just moved from Columbus (graduated from OSU) or else I'd be happy to give you a game.

Maximus:
I am in Columbus, and am looking to get back into 40k, much to my wife's chagrin. In college, I only brought along a very old copy of the original Rogue Trader Rules for 40k, which I then came up with a solid set of house rules for. I know most people don't have that book, but something can always be worked out. I am also willing to play the new rules, as well as void/warzone/whatever. As far as minis go, I have lots, and play with GW and nonGW stuff. I really hate the gaming stores (too many kids with too much money), so I am much more of a basement gamer/non-competitive/have a few cold ones player. If you are interested, PM me and maybe we can meet up and see if we could get a game or two on. That goes for anyone in the area.

there is small group of basement gamers up here in worthington. we are all a few out of college non-competitive relaxed gamers. we tend to rotate systems from FOW to necromunda, to battlefleet gothic, to 40k, and are even gonna pull out the old man o war and car wars one off games... so if any of y'all are interested let me know..

I game in Columbus, Ohio too along with a few friends.

I know a few places where you can catch 40k games.

1. The Guard Tower, Monday nights as mentioned before. Guaranteed to be people there almost every Monday night. People are very nice there and most are college age or older (some people 40's ++)

2. Hobbyland on Sawmill Rd. on Wednesday nights. The people that game there are kids so they try to cater to the younger/less-experienced players in some very casual, friendly games.

I also live in Columbus, want to try to make Mondays at the Guardtower.

Kent over at The Soldiery has decent pricing on GW, and once a month hosts a 1000 point bring your own army to a Apocalyptic sized table .. good for learning the game, but can be a bit hectic.

I am really interested in the Worthington group.. I live there.. and have NO idea you guys existed.

(course, most of the responses to this thread are over a year or so old.. lol)

Sure Space Wolves Land Raider Pilot

Columbus, Ohio

I found this thread in the archives and dug it up, because I'm heading to Columbus next week on a work trip and wanted to check out the game stores in the area.... I'll be in town on Monday and I'm leaving Thursday night.

Is the Guard Tower still worth checking out on Monday nights? My hotel is over in Easton and is about 18 miles away from there.

What about The Soldiery or Ravenstone Games? Are either of those place worth checking out?

Thanks!
