Going to try out this list on sat. Cant wait to see how well it does. I have a mecha eldar opponent lined up. If i can get in touch with another friend, i can test it out against his mecha tau and godzilla nids as well. That way i can get a pretty good feel for the meta-game.

I would just like to say that dropping one warphead for a KFF mech might be advisable. Also I don't really like deffkoptas, don't know why but i would rather have a rokkit killa kan. Its probably because all my fast attacks are gonna be clogged with stormboyz .

With that I would like to inquire how the trukk sluggas do compared to the slogging shootas. I would also like to know how zagstruuk, and snikrot do. If you could tell us those few things after your games i would appreciate it .

When you combine Speed and Power you get Lightning.

the reason i use deffkotas over killer kans is due to their mobility. objective grabbing and such.

and ill post my results later this week. i too am curious on how they do.

I played a game very similar to yours, only with zagstuck only. Honestly I think snikrot is better. After my opponent learned I was playing new orks, he knew to set up spread out, leaving very bad landing zones near either terrain, board edges, or his troops. I might just stick with snikrot and use waagh! the turn he shows up. Chances are you wanted to hit something in the back anyway, and you dont get called a cheezer for 2 special characters in your army. And that leaves you points to buy a nob with a pk for the stormboys, a bosspole, and another stormboy or 2. And yes, one warphead would probably be enough. Remember you can only use waagh! once a turn, and you get a guaranteed chance to use it after turn 1. Those points would be much better spent on a mek with a KFF to protect those 4 boyz squads. I have used 2, one to stick near the footsloggers, and the other near the immobile lootas/battlewagon. Orks actually getting saves most of the time is the biggest improvement that the 4th ed codex brought around. A squad of 30 can be menacing yes, but when you only manage to kill 9 of them in a turn, and 3 of those guys save vs any weapons, it makes it even harder.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

DeffKopters are cool, but Buggies with Rockets are Cheaper. DeffKopters are slightly tougher to kill but suffer from Morale checks at LD 7, with the Buggies Ignore that completely. I think Kopters are cool, but I'd only really run them in 1 Kopter Squads, and only if I had the Fast Attack slots and points left over.
