Before I forget...I'm running a 'forget the ard boyz' tournament.

Nov 24, 40K, 1500 points, Utah. Any 2007 GT army is allowed.

15$ if paid early, 20$ on the day of.

3 games, planned to start at 11:30 and finish up by 7.

Overall: 150$
Butcher and Best General: 70$.

Max 16 players. If 8 or less show, the prizes get cut in half.

My wife doesn't mind me tossing in an extra 50$ but when it goes above that I get yelled at.

I believe you can reach Matt at 968-6365. You can email me (or post here) with any questions.

Sorry for not posting earlier.

Here are the general rules. I'll post the scenarios seperately.

A Day of Battle

Tournament Special Rules

The following rules are *always* in effect: Deep Strike, Infiltrators, Victory Points, Table Quarters, No Mercy, The Battlefield, Starting, The Objectives, and Power Up.

No Mercy. Nominate one enemy unit at the start of each of your games. Tell your opponent what it is. You may re-roll all dice rolls (hit, wound, number of hits/shots, armor penetration, damage) against it. Remember dice may still only be re-rolled ONCE.

The Battlefield: Terrain is fixed—that means do not move it, ever. Buildings and Rolling Hills are considered SIZE 3; any size model behind an object may not be targeted except by a unit on high ground (any hill, on floor 2 or higher of a building) that can trace actual line of sight from model to model. Forests block LOS as they are area terrain.

The Objectives:
Each objective is worth a certain number of battle points, the objectives differ per scenario in their value but otherwise remain the same throughout the tournament.
Primary is worth 12 Battle Points.
Secondary is worth 8 Battle Points.
Tertiary is worth 2 Battle Points per.
Bonus objectives are worth +1 or +2 Battle Points.
RECORD VICTORY POINTS SEPERATELY FROM BATTLE POINTS!

Starting: Roll a D6 to determine table side. The winner places a unit first.
Use this order to deploy: Troops, Elite, Heavy, Fast Attack, HQ. Winner deploys infiltration first, then alternate units until all infiltrators are placed. Roll a D6 and add your commanders initiative to determine who goes first—your commander is the model with the most wounds or costs the most in your HQ choices. The winner here makes Scout moves first. Call for help if you are not sure about ANYTHING! ?

Power Up options:
If you win game 1, you may choose to add any 1 of the following to any 1 of your non-vehicle units. This remains through games 2 and 3. Inform your opponent before play begins who has what! In the unlikely event you have NO non-vehicle units, you may choose from the next set of power up options.
Power Fist or power weapon.
Plasmagun or Plasma Pistol.

If you win game 2, you may choose to add any 1 of the following to any 1 of your vehicle units. This remains through games 2 and 3. Inform your opponent before play begins who has what! In the unlikely event you have NO vehicle units, you may choose from the previous set of power up options.
Extra Armor or improved dozer blade (can use going over 6”).
Pintle-mounted Tau Plasma Rifle. 24” Range, S6, AP2, Rapid Fire.

A few things came up during the tournament that aren't exactly spelled out, but will be for the next.

1) Going first for Scenario 3 is the same as in Scenario 1.
If you win the roll, you *must* go first.

2) Controlling table quarters is different for a reason, mostly the GW way is silly and doesn't make for good gaming.

3) Concealment worked well for the first turn. Some people hunkered down, others ran forward. As concealment was included to prevent people from 'gaming' the scenario, you can't choose to go 2nd if you win the roll was included.

4) Night fighting was in effect for the 3rd game as concealment means no moving--which is bad. For the record, Maugan Ra and Sammael on Jetbike both went into the drink despite being read those rules. lol

5) At any point a players army was *completely eliminated*, game play immediately ended.

6) The prizes are always store credit, but that does mean every 50$ worth of prizes is worth a free 10$ blister. It's a thing Mind Games does.

7) Sportsmanship isn't included, but everyone has my email address (and the comment lines) to fix up any issues that might arise.

8) Best Painted isn't currently included, but I plan to offer a prize for such in the future...and it will never influence the scores for top 1-4.

9) Ooops one more thing, for the 'tertiary' objectives only Scenario 1 actually had a split Tertiary. In future I'll correctly put +4T for scenarios where a split isn't possible.

And I think that covers everything that came up...here's a copy of the scoring sheet, essentially they get turned in together and I assign new tables out myself. I'd love to see more people come. I'm planning on another Tournament in January.

Scoring Sheet and Table Assignments.
