Rather static. If the enemy charges the Warriors, then your army might get phased out.
Rather monodimensional. If the enemy destroys your Destroyers, your mobility is gone.

No Res Orb? One good assault = you lose.

Destroyer Lord is an asset and a luxury. Orb Lord is an absolute necessity. Drop the former, get the latter.

question, are you saying I am better off with a foot lord with res orb chillin with my troops rather than a destroyer lord with scarabs charging into an assault?

Assuming this is an all-comers list (i.e. not specifically tailored for the armies you know your mates will bring), then yes, almost certainly. The DLord will make a mess of certain things, granted, but there are too many enemies against whom your un-Orbed, static(-ish) Warriors will be an auto-lose. Mech Eldar swoop in with three Falcons full of Harlies and/or Dragons = you phase out, guaranteed. That alone would be enough disincentive to go Orb-less, but the reality is that any army that can deliver PW or Rending CC attacks to your lines will stand a good chance at phasing you out. Even a single Callidus could put you dangerously close to the edge.

I'd better avoid the enemy, keeping him at arm's length.
The Scarabs and Destroyers help to intercept a fast enemy unit threatening your front ranks.

Presumably the Destroyers are split into 2 sets of 5. I'd also recommend splitting the Immortals into 2 sets of 5.

You are going to need some manner of counterattack element. If your scarabs are being used for blitzing and your Lord is going with them you don't have any way to handle an enemy CC unit that gets in. You've got a lot of shooting, so getting in won't be easy, but something as simple as twin assault squads with a jump pack chaplain rolling IC immediately behind them has a great chance at weathering your fire and making a charge.

You've got some choices, you can ditch the Destroyer Lord for a ROVOD lord. You can ditch some shooting for some manner of counterassault unit, probably Tomb Spyders are your best bet here. You can drop some shooting for a Monolith. You can have your Lord + Scarabs do counterassault duty instead of shooting. You can just rely on always shooting everythign down. You could drop the Lord + Scarabs and grab the Deceiver.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

You need to give up on either destroyers or immortals at 1500. Choose one or the other.
