Is this basically the same as GW Superglue (I notice the packaging is the same)?

Anything that says "cyanoacrylate" is the same stuff. The consistency varies from "thick" (for gap filling) to "thin" (about the consistency of water); you want the middle ground.
I use Zap-A-Gap, which says gap-filling, but it's not as thick as some I've used for RC aircraft.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k. Rule #1 - BBAP

The Zap-A-Gap stuff should have different consitencies in different bottles.
Also, the longer it sits around, the thicker it gets.
Kicker is a must have, but it smells like a urinal puck, and the spray bottle I have tends to spray in two settings: "None" and "far, far too much."
You probably knew this, but there you go.

superglue is superglue, get it from the cheapest provider. I buy the multipack tubes of superglue pound shops. I get fifteen little tubes, plus one debonder. None of them last on their own but as I batch my assembly I use one tube for a few days and keep the rest spare. Years later I still have unopened and servicable tubes of glue.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. |

So true. I also get stuff from £ shops. They're pretty good for materials, though the tools are sometimes slightly dodgy (I've had a few snap in my time). Still, worth the price. But yeah, glue is glue. Here's the one I normally end up with, 20 for £1, no de-bonder (listed here at a bargain price of £5) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20-TUBES-super-glue-adhesive-hobby-superglue-BARGAIN_W0QQitemZ260181123518QQihZ016QQcategoryZ131625QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
