Gone?

http://theminiaturespage.com/news/678379/

The Armorcast Models' BattleTech license will be ending December 14, 2007.

Armorcast Scenery is planning to pick up the license, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Armorcast Models will stop selling BattleTech resin models on December 14th, so if you want to be absolutely sure to get one of these models or additional weapons, etc., please order before December 14th.

Orders received after December 14th will not be filled. Please do not expect to get through by phone or fax on Friday the 14th - the phone will very likely be busy...

Thanks to all for your support for the eight years that we have been producing the BattleTech models.

Tim adds:There is no guarantee that they will be started up again, so there is a possiblity that they will not be seen again. – which is why I posted the news release.

It seems that the Eisner purchase of Topps has thrown things at Wizids into some sort of tizzy. Neither company (Armorcast Scenery and Armorcast Models) has had any luck contacting WizKids licensing representatives in the past couple of months.

[i]so get them now folks!

I may have to pick up a Point of Elementals, then. Yeah, the Ral Partha 25mms are still around, but the Armorcast ones are way too awesome.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

I figured Iron Wind was where BTech ended up, and they're where I've gotten some mechs from in the last few months ...

EDIT: Ohhhhhhhhhh these are 28mm-scale, and now that I looked at the page I remember being there before A while back I wanted to get that flatbed truck, but passed on it. With Wehrkind below, an Atlas stomping about would be pretty groovy.

Man, it is tempting to get one or two and tweak them to look like imperial titans. Those are not bad prices all told, and I love the look of many of the old Battle Tech Mechs.

Theres been some discussion over at Armorgeddon (Armorcast Scenery forums) about this,
the current plan is for the scenery arm to pick up the rights, not only to the old models, and they'd like to add new models as well.
Head on over to: http://armorcast.com/Armorgeddon/index.php?topic=156.0 and show your interest! The more people we get on this thing, the more likely it is to happen!
I know that I'm extremely excited about the possibilities!
