A while back you mentioned this list "There was a now famous army at the Baltimore GT that had Eldrad, Y’riel, 3 falcons and 3 squads of harlies. (oh, and 2x5 rangers). Had 4 massacres in 4 games, and was on table #1 where he lost do to some bad fleet-of-foot rolls."

What did Eldrad and Yriel ride in? 2 separate wave serpents, the same one? or was Elrad in a bike squad?

thanks!

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

That was Brad Chester's army at the Baltimore GT.

I am not sure how he used Eldrad. I think he had him walking near the Falcons, so he could not be targeted (when I saw him he was hiding in the 'forks' of the Falcon where he could not be assaulted).

As far as Y'riel goes he took a squad of 5 harlequins, and Y'reil just loaded up into a falcon.

@albinoork: Because you cannot move within 1" of an enemy model that you are not assaulting. So the falcon is preventing the charge.

That's funny.

Please re-read the rules.

Eldrad would indeed be able to be a valid assault target, the Falcon being there is pointless.

Of course, the real question is how Eldrad is placed in that location during a game--or is the Falcon not bothering to move over 6"?

Besides opening deployment, it seems highly suspect.

Perhaps there are two Falcons continually switching places.

The downside to putting him in a falcon is that he can't cast any powers.

Also, how can you assault him?

He can take a jetbike or not take a jetbike, it's just an option for him.

He can join them or not, with or without a jetbike.

With is better.

Primary assault=Eldrad.
Secondary assault=Falcon.

In short, it's a pointless tactic.

Works fine vs shooting, but being in the tangs seems a bit extreme. A 13 AV or higher vehicle can displace the Falcon and allow Eldrad to be targeted--and template weapons can hit him quite easily sitting in the Falcon hull.

I just stand my IC's farther away from the enemy than my Falcons, and it all works out and they don't get clipped by templates.

wha? I've had this argument with the guys at my local hobby shop, and they all seem to agree that because the option to be mounted on a jetbike is not implicitley stated in Eldrad's description in the codex, that he is unable to be mounted on a bike. Stelek, with your experience at GT's, do they allow him to ride a bike?

Eldrad can't be given any upgrades or extra equipment.

Uhhh sorry, I thought someone was asking me about a regular Farseer on a bike.

Eldrad is always a foot model.

Footslogging Eldrad gives the opponent a focus.
This is what you want to avoid with a mech Eldar army.
Fast moving bugs may be able to charge him, and you don't want to waste the Harlies to charge Gaunts.
