Someone mentioned something that got me thinking. Is it possible to make a necron army that did not include any "necron" units and thus would be immune to phase out (since you can't kill off 75% of 0 necrons)?

If so, do you think its a viable possibility with the units you have remaining?

I think the only troop units are necron warriors, which count towards phase out.

In Apocalypse you could do all C'tan, scarabs, tomb spyders, and pariahs.

It isn't possible, and the non-necron units are craptastically bad. Not a good army even if half of it is Monoliths.

Even if it was possible the army would automatically phase out.

The rule says "must kill 75% of Necrons" 75% of 0 is 0 so the second 0 Necrons have been killed the army phases out.

Well, following the wording of the codex "75% of the models, rounding factions up, are destroyed", this would indicate that they would not phase out, as no unit has been destroyed...
Also, "must kill 75% of necrons", as in your wording, would agin result in no phasing out, as no unit has been killed. 0 killed out of 0 is 0% killed. In fact, its not 100% killed, or 75% killed, or anything like that, because (agin), nothing has been killed.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

You could make a legal necron army with two small warrior squads and av C'tan, then hide the warriors. Then take non necrons for everything else. Not quite what you are after, and it wouldnt ork anyway. Though three Monoliths would be nasty it would be a very unfair army to play and would either lose hard (vs highly mobile opponents) or be frustratingly unkillable (everyone else).

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

You can't do 0 of 0, as you *must* take some necrons as your troops.

Orlanth is correct, it's a coin flip army....win big or lose big.
