My first finished Warcaster. I had to redo my bone armor style, as the stuff I'd tried it on before turned out really bad. They were way too streaky. This works much better, and I'm very happy with how he turned out. I wanted to do glowing blue runes on the sword, but 1) I knew it would be a lot of work to get it right, and 2) I figured I'd only screw it up. All I have to do is put on the grass and the snow on the base, then seal and he's done.

I'd say go for the blue runes man. They would really help set this guy off. And honestly I don't think they'd be too hard. Just a dark blue in the depths and around them, then a light (ice) blue edging them with a 50/50 white/light (ice) blue final highlight and you could have that no problem.

The bone armor looks very nice. I do think the cloth could use a bit more attention though. Both the cape and the loincloth look rather flat. Another stage of highlighting would be enough. The face looks awesome. Make sure to clean that base rim up too ^_^.

Nice work. Might we see the rest of this group?

Yeah, I'd echo the suggestion to go with the blue (or green, since it's Cryx) glow. PP models seem to be all about having some sort of glow on them.

The cloth is a little more defined that the pic shows. It's supposed to be very dark blue, to contrast the bone armor. So my final highlight is only 2:1 stormy blue:white. The highlight on the black cape is muted a little too, but it is still very subdued. I hate painting black.

And as you might guess, I'm going with a non-traditional Cryx scheme. My jacks will be glowing blue instead of green, and the major armor plates will be bone. Call it Cygnar envy, if you must.

I can show more, but this is really the first Cryxy thing I've finished. I tried it out on some mercs to work out the details.
