Ok, so can you or can you not take a Chaos Rhino as a non-dedicated transport?
If you can, how do you take it? As a vehicle taking a troop slot or part of a marine squad and then it breaks off?
Again, yes I am dumb. I was reading where it said that it is a non-dedicated transport, but then could only find it listed under the troops slot as a dedicated transport. Am I missing something? Probably.

Where does it say its a non dedicated transport?
On page 96 of the CSM codex, under the Rhino entry, it states that "certain CSM units have the option of selecting a chaos Rhino."
It goes on to say that it occupies no slot on the FOC, but otherwise functions as a seperate unit.
It doesn't really give the option of just taking a rhino for the thrill of it though. Or am I missing something?

See I was under the impression that it noting it as a separate unit meant that it was it's own deal, but the only way I can figure
how to get it in an army is as a dedicated transport.
Whatever, at 35pts it is a steal either way, just seemed odd that they noted it as a separate unit where I can't find any similar
language to that in any other codices about transports (besides LR)

You buy the rhino for the squad. Once the squad has deployed, the rhino could then go off on its own, it doesn't have to stay with the squad.
Any other explanation seems odd to me. Otherwise, you could buy a dozen empty rhinos and use them as a shield wall for your other units.
"Sorry mate, can't fire at my predator, that rhino wall is the closest target...."

Does a Squad with a dedicated transport have to deploy INSIDE the transport or if possible just beside it?

Either or, your choice. There are benefits and drawbacks to both though.
Deploy your squad inside, and if your opponent has first turn and destroys the transport......
Deploy them next to each other and your opponent can target either or both. And, if you want the squad to move fast, then you have to have them embark on the transport.

Neither, you can deploy the rhino at one end of your deployment zone and deploy the squad 6' away at the other end of the deployment zone if you want.

For those wondering, this is spelled out pretty clearly on p81 of the BGB.
