Battle Hymns of the Space Marines, vol.1

It is little known but a true fact that Space Marines are not only masters of war they are also masters of martial music. The structured rhythms of their marches provide an instinctive subconscious defence against the taint of chaos, the uplifting lyrics instruct the mind and the harmonies gladden the heart dedicated to the service of the Space Emperor.

It is with great pride that Black Music Publishing Corporation announces the first compilation of Battle Hymns of the Adeptus Astartes. This audio data chip contains 12 inspiring anthems, all recorded at great expense in the headquarters castles of the chapters named below. Each chapter's unique style is captured faithfully in the highest fidelity 7.1 surround sound.

The Ultramarines
A mesmerizing slice of uptempo galactic electro-funk made up of a looped chunky breakbeat, crisp percussion, shapeshifting synths and unsettling vocodered vocals.

The Black Templars
Disco, soul and gospel vocals mixed up with painstakingly arranged drums, and a comforting four-to-the-floor beat with hints of Latin, Afro-percussion and hip hop attitude.

The Space Wolves
A menacing trip hop piece. The underlying sense of danger steadily builds into a crescendo of heavy beats, interlaced with beautiful string arrangements.

The Iron Hands
Big clean vocals, with 80’s influenced riffs, clean guitar with a melodic distorted solo over the top. Comes back in strong with a solid groove.

The Blood Angels
Molten, fluid metal with hot electronic grooves, produced to the point of "dying of excessive slickness". The drum sequencing is superb.

The Imperial Fists
A supercool funky guitar break in the middle, and the main "body" of the groove, with the song title repeated over and over again, is pretty intoxicating.

The Raven Guard
The sound is notably full, instrumental layers thick with minimalistic grooves and incredible vocal dynamics, synth loops and tricky arrangements mashed up with electronic drums, simple cool and funky dance loops.

The Storm Giants
Combines Eastern music elements (particularly in the vocal melody) with minimal instrumentation - no bass, a thin synth background and just a minimum of guitar throughout, culminating in a short, but sharp solo.

The Raptors
Innovative beats and rhyme schemes build up into many layers; from Hip-Hop to a bit of Jazz, Country and Latin inspired rhythms.

The Howling Griffons
Eclectic raps, acoustic sounds, poetic lyrics and an electric guitar charged backdrop laid on a solid beat give it some serious head nod factor.

The Grey Knights
The minimalistic ideas are fired out at speed ripping through a hypnotic varying mellow harmonic beating note with hard beats, harsh tones and raucous rhythms all dispatched without a care.

The Space Sharks
A typical hi-energy dance feel deliberately assisted by a pounding drum machine. The rich, robust sounding bass is coupled with an instrumental chorus line of happy acid house. Advanced technology meets bold samples.

Also available on Crystal Matrix, MP3, CD, 78 (six disc set) and Wax Cylinder (12 disc set) depending on local tech level.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Brilliant. We could have Squad Musicians in 40k just like in Fantasy.
