This is a Christmas gift for a friend of mine.

He's a Chaos player (among other armies) and has been playing a lot of Chaos, since the new codex. He doesn't have any Slaaneshi Daemon Princes.

I saw an image somewhere of a Daemon Princess that someone made of St. Celestine, and I KNEW that Slaanesh would be perfect for a corrupted female.

Searching through my bits and unused models, I found a model from the Inquisitor range that I originally bought with the intent of making an Imperial Monument out of (similar to my current thread on an Imperial Monument).

Once I took her out & looked at her, I realized she wasn't what I thought. I thought I had an =I= scale Daemon Huntress, but what I actually had was an =I= scale
Sister Repentia. I couldn't find any pictures of her on the GW site and it looks as if she's now OOP.
With the UGLEEE head choices that came with her, it's no wonder. The heads both looked like a short cropped afro on top & a mullet in the back!

Eeek!

I realized I'd NEVER use her for my original intent, so she was perfect.

Snooping through my bits, I found the rest of her.

Contents:
Sister Repentia torso/legs piece
NEW CSM Slaaneshi Champion head
NEW Possessed Claw arm
NEW Chaos Spawn tentacle-like piece
NEW Possessed Winged backpack (I was saving for a Raptor squad, too.... my friend had better frigging appreciate this mini!)

I was surprised at how well the Chaos pieces fit. They are perfectly in scale, due to the Sr. Repentia's small, lithe body.

The base is basic, right now. Just sand. It'll be a fairly average dirt/grass base to match the rest of his army.

Pictures (pre priming):
(Sorry for the quality. The camera's a good one but it was a last minute shoot in my basement right before spraying. The lighting there is NOT good for images)

My friend always takes Wings (and why NOT?!?! - Rhetorical question. Please, don't respond) and usually takes a Lash on his Daemon Prince. The left arm is to represent that Psychic power.

I couldn't / didn't want to use the original left arm, as it is scrawny and carrying a bolt pistol. DP's can't use bolt pistols, so there you go.
Plus, I wanted to have as much chaos on there as possible.

Every plastic piece is pinned to the torso and there's a little greenstuff between the backpack and her back. It wasn't a perfect fit (everything was filed down, trimmed or both to a certain degree), but the pieced went together amazingly well.

So, what do you think?

Painting starts tomorrow.

.................................... Searching for Iscandar

The left arm is out of place. Looks like a tail.

Just being honest. I'd scrap that arm and try again.

If you want a lash that'll fit, try the Hive Tyrant Lash Whip arm...personally I'd just find a decent arm and make a lash whip out of wire that looks like Lucius the Eternal's stance.

Hope that helps.

The reason it looks off (I think) is because I attached it a bit away from the actual torso, rather than having the "shoulder" under the robe.
It was actually a conscious decision, to show the flexibility and alien nature of the "arm." It looks better in person, where you can actually examine the whole model.

Rather than make it look like an arm that happened to be a "tentacle", I wanted it to look like a "tentacle" that happened to attach where an arm would be.
Does that make sense?

The greenstuff work I did to the underarm makes it look more "realistic."

As for it being a "tail..." Well, I don't really know what to say. LOL It's an actual tentacle piece from the sprue (though, oddly enough, I DID contemplate using one of the tails. <G>

The Hive Tyrant arm would never work. It's WAY too big. Even al old, OOP metal one wouldn't work right. I wanted to keep this mini as lithe as possible.

As for creating one... also a no-go. I don't have NEARLY the amount of time (or greenstuff - I'm officially out & the closest source is an hour away) that I'd need to do something like that. I figure that I have until around the 22nd, TOPS, to finish this AND the other project.

Thanks for the input, though. I do appreciate it.

Eric

--Edit--
Oh, and GBF... Thanks... But I don't want to take credit where creditt isn't due.

There's no real sculpting there. I just stuck the remnants of my greenstuff in the little gap between the tentacle and her torso and between the backpack and her back and smoothed them out to look appropriate. So, there is greenstuff "work," but no actual sculpting.

It's neat I like it.
Though aren't princes suppose to be monsterous?

It's the base size that's most important.
She's larger than a CSM (height, anyway) and mounted on an appropriate base, so she's good to go.

Besides... She's female. They're suposed to be dainty and delicate (I wish someone would tell my wife that). LOl

It's why she's prefect for Slaanesh (The Daemon Princess, not my wife... She's more Khornate). LOL

Thanks!

no where in the current CSM codex does it sate that Daemon Princes are monstrous creatures or have to be modeled with the now defunct "daemonic stature".

Actually it does. The DP entry on p. 92 says "monstrous creature" right under 'Unit Type'. So it does need to be on the big base now.

Steve... You're not saying she's on the wrong base. Are you?

That's the same base as comes with the Daemon Prince and, IIRC, the correct base for a MC.

Just to throw my two cents into the ring, it looks like she's about to fall backwards based on the 3rd picture. You may want to consider repositioning her on the base, and/or cutting and repositioning one of the legs so she is either centered as opposed to reeling backwards, or leaning forwards as though she is about to storm through your lines or take flight. In fact, with the big wings, you could legitimately pose her as though she is leaping forwards/upwards, probably fairly easy given the model.

As far as the base goes, a grass/dirt base with a boulder/large rock upon which she is leaping from would add a bit of extra 'oomph' to the model while still keeping with the overall theme of your friend's basing scheme.

I don't know about all of you but I think it's fantastic. The way it's falling back makes her look like she's just landed or is preparing to attack and put her weight into it. I'm sorry, but if any of you went up against that, would you say it wasn't MONSTROUS?! I'd have to say, it's a beautiful conversion, embodies slaanesh fantastically, and I would be proud to have a friend to do that for me.

I'll chime in too saying she's got a sense of movement, not imbalance. It looks good- although some closer head pics would be nice.
