ok so i have finialy started to paint again in hopes to get a 400 point combat patroll painted for a-con...

my fire warriors are turning out ok (sorry cant get pics up yet)

but my crisis suits, and skimmers are suffering.

about the paint job. primed in black, base coat of catachan green that is highlighted with about a 1:1 catachan green to koamando kakki trimed by adding a little bit of white in.... the darker color is about a 1:2 chaos black to codex gray highlighted in stright codex gray and trimed in fortress gray... fire warriors get stright codex gray on cloth high lighted in fortress.

the smaller panneling on the fire warriors make this look ok...

but on the crisis suits there are a lot more edges on the armor and it seams to get clutred with the highlight color...

and on the tanks, the pannels are just so big that when done dose not look right.... i have tried drybrushing (very heavy) the highlighht color on after i give it a very libiral highlight and this looks ok... but i wish for somethign better.

so any of you tank painters out there got tips for me??? people who paint tanks with pannels on them (tau and eldar come to mind) would be nice... but really tank painting tip in general are great.

You're pretty much required to do some layering and feathering of large panels. You can use edging for this but doing it the typical tron-tau way (which I find looks like ass anyway) makes it look like ass.

Head over to CMON and start learning about feathering. Just remember to add washes between every 3rd or 4th layer if the jump in color is too pronounced.
