I had about 4-4500pts worth of Orks a few years ago but financial issues and a big move forced me to sell them. With the new Codex and models coming out, I caved in and am going to start the WAAAGH again!

Here's my old Warboss, Gloobottla. He's the only survivor of my old army. I recently added the pole, the forehead blade and the spiked pads to his arms. You can see the old paintjob but I'm looking to do something different.

Here's a Skorcha Warbuggy.

Here's a Kan and a few Boyz and a Nob.

For some reason the red really stands out whenever I take pics, but it's not that bright in person. I'm not Golden Demon material, but I'm pretty pleased with how they look so far. Once I can afford to pick up a Carnifex I will begin on my big project and will post about it. Feedback appreciated!

I like the can. The skin of the boys are drak angles green and goblin green I guess.

The warboss looks exactly like a warboss should - evil and menacing. Too many of GW's ork units are fun and cartoony (although that can be ok too) but they dont show the power that orks are supposed to have. Your warboss really would make a nice centrepiece.

I was thinking of painting my warboss a lighter color, like an orangey-yellow. Do you think he looks better in black?

I think he looks great in black.

I think he looks great in black but then I have always liked the more sinister side of the orks (and 40k in general) so tend to lean away from the brighter colours.

Black it is! Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to go with chipped black and some red parts as well.

just some feedback about the ork skin..

I'm in exactly the same boat.. redoing almost my entire army for the new codex.

found this works really well for the skin:

gnarloc green foundation paint over black primer
dark green ink wash
drybrush goblin green
highlight further with 1:1 gob green and codex grey

far as the boss goes.. definately go dark.. your fig looks really mean already
