I would like some help with this one. If any master converters out there could tell me what would be a good way to attach an outer Carapace built from Plasticard(sheet styrene) onto this frame?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Looks good so far! I think one of the best ways to fill out a Titans body is Polystyrene Foam. The kind that you TV is delivered in, know what I mean?

It's good in that it is light, yet gives good 'padding' for you to attach plasticard to.

Another thing I have found, is that you really need to make sure your Titan is Front-heavy to start with, as the Carapace/Body has a lot of weight supported at the back of the Titan. If this is not done properly, you can have some REAL balance issues later.

Good luck, and looking forward to seeing some pics as you go!

You already have what I would use, that being the pink foam you have in the back ground. I would use this for the base frame and then use sheets of plasticard outer shell (like akira was saying). or in place of plasticard you could use sheets of card board like the GW stuff comes in. it would be cheeper then using plastic card. good luck and you've got a great start.

I have to agree with werewolfhunter, best bet would be to pad out the frame with some of that pink insulation foam. Use hot melt glue to affix four strips to the pipes, boxing them in. Once you've enclosed all of the frame you can add successive layers to bulk up to the desired size. Then it's just a matter of trimming to the desired shape and appling a skin of plasticard or cardstock.

Good suggestions so far everyone.! Thank you so much for your help. Werewolf and Arstahd, i'll begin work on it Sunday using the pink foam and i'll see how it goes. I'll post pictures as I move along. Progress will be slow so be patient.

Anyone else feel free to throw out some ideas. I can use all the help I can get.

Thanks

Ok, santa's elves have been a little busy.

I decided to use some of that green foam that florists use to make flower arrangements. That stuff is awsome!!

I am very interested in how this titan is being built. Most other titans are made with the basic structure first, but yours is more like a regular sculpt from a wireframe, so it will be really interesting to see how it develops. Keep up the good work!

One thing to be careful about florist foam is that it is really delicate. Since you are putting plasticard over the top it won't be too bad probably, but man, it is nothing to put a thumb through it or melt it with glue :(
