Hi all.

Here's the story. I'm new to this forum stuff but after a google search popin up with a picture on Dakka Dakka and looking around (particulaly at the titans, train and wing tyrant) I'm feeling a bit motivated to make something. My mum and girlfriend are pestering me what I want for Christmas (sounds weird coming from a 23 YO) so I'm thinking maybe they can get me a kit to base a modelling project on. I'm a 40K marine player but also buy random stuff to paint for display pieces (Mumak, baneblade etc). Don't want to be spending quite this much as have plenty of other plans that will use up time such as taking advantage of apocalypse and playing my marine company at full strength for the first time ever! Also don't want a scratch build project (I'm too lazy to work with plastic card to the degree some of you do. Wouldn't mind something mariney (have spares already) and love the newer darker look for them (most of mine are from before the current updated models) but am sick of painting the bog standard marine, would prefer something a bit more unusual/bigger, possibly some sort of dread or flying rhino type vehicle....... Any ideas please? I will try to add photos/updates when I've picked something.

Hiya, I started converting with a stretched rhino, easy to do and can be modified to a stretched Predator of anything with a Rhino chassis.

Any sort of nurgle stuff seems to be fun to convert and allows for sloppiness that you couldnt get away with in other armies. Some nurgle imperial guard tank perhaps?

Try a chimera witha predator turret. A super sweet conversion and not that hard.

thanks for the sugestions. The streched limo idea's got me hinking about a guard army from white dwarf a couple of years ago, the tanks had been stretch and were flying versions made form the space marine landspeeder cockpit if i remember rightly. Have done nurgle tanks before, great fun but I can't see me having the time to do the project justice. If I did that I think I'd ehad down a nurgle defiler route. I'll see. Chimera could be interesting. in the past I drew up a background for a guard regiment based ona swap plnet (Chimeras are amphibious...) and thought it coud be great for conversions with simple counts as rules. Was just a poor student back then so not much came from it although I did have a bash at a hovercraft chimera...

feeling inspired too now, maybe could do something along these lines. have always like the new sentinal models but havn't been sure what to do with them (apart from using the cockpit as a hovercraft cockpit or the central part to a 4 wheeled off road buggy type thing.)

What would an AM expiditionary force look like? Obviously geared towards aquiring new technology so i guess some sort of transport equipment. Would also asume they have acess to so elite units as the backbone to the fighting section of the force for get in and grab it situations.

Any ideas?
