Nidzilla is a Tyranid list with up to 8 monstrous creatures (2 Tyrants, 3 elite fexes, 3 suport fexes)

AC can mean armored company (rarely seen) or assault cannon (not an army).

I think any army can be "top tier". It all depends on how you construct it. I have tried the way of the Armd Coy, while powerful, it can be beaten like any other army.

Space Marines
-Armies that maximize the number of assault cannons they carry via terminators and Landspeeder Tornados.
-Armies that take 6 units of devastators and las/plas squads(units made up of a gun with a lascannon, a guy with a plasma gun and the minimum extra to make a legal unit).

Guard
-Paradropping squads maxed out with plasma guns
-Shooty army from hell

Tyranids
-Nidzilla
-Stealer shock - Genestealers everywhere moving very fast, can't kill them all

Eldar
-Mechanized Eldar - Army based around skimmers that hide and pick off enemy units, capture table quarters and objectives to squeak out wins

Chaos(yet to be worked out yet), Tau, Dark Eldar, and Necrons don't really have a 'top tier' army list however anyone who is good with one of these can usually take one of the 'top tier' armies if the person running it isn't experienced.

Dark Angels, Demonhunters, Witch hunters are not very competitive builds right now.

Orks will be good, very, very good.... just gotta wait for the book to be officially released.

thanks for the list, was looking for this myself. Are marine drop pod forces still considered hard-as? Also, have the IG armies really been posting all that much in the way of wins? I'm in possession of one that I have been building and playin off and on for a few years (back burner burnout project), and am trying to decide hhow I will finish it off. It's got tons of heavy weapon fireteams, sharpshooters, and planning on using Last chancers split into sub-units with demo charges to add some zest. gave them all droptroopers because it's free, and am wondering about taking light infantry on the squads to overcome bad terrain.

I'm not really sure marine drop pods were ever considered that top tier. There is to much randomness in how they come down(guard overcome this with having so many units), and they can't do things like take 4 plasma guns to maximize the damadge the turn they come down.

The shooty army from hell for guard works in larger games, 2k+ as you need to have a LOT of guns.

Necrons: C'tan, >20 Warriors, 12 Destroyers, 6 Heavy Destroyers, Monolith

Dark Eldar: Archon, 6x10 Warriors w/ dark lances, lots of small Raider squads, 3 Ravagers.

Chaos: 2 Sorcerers/ DPs w/ lash, 3 las/plas Chosen squads, 2 Khorne Berzerker squads, 1 Havocs squad, 4-6 Obliterators
