Allrighty, 'ere we go:

Any reason why the lord doesn't have gw & shield? Strictly per rules iirc he even gets +2 str with gw on shieldbearers. The rune of furnace seems redundant too, as it's often just used to get multiple same rune combos if needed. In any case I'd try to squeeze the rune of resistance in as it really makes the lord super-survivable with the MRofSteel (I gather this is one of the main points of dwarf lord that he just can't be killed by anything barring tricksy elfs and vaul's unmaking). Also, as the Thane has already lots of points invested in him, getting 5+ ward to him would be handy (via the "standard bearer gets 5+ward"- banner-rune).

Champs on non-elite blocks whom characters are not joining are pretty much dead weight as you could use the points better elsewhere, especially if you're not taking the drill with miners. Giantslayer seems also a bit overpriced considering that he's just a naked dwarf, so better skip him also.

Regardless of the former advice, the list could definetly use gyrocopter or 2 as without anvil you better get all the speedy stuff you can. 1 Regulard dwarf box & 1 bolt thrower are among those things which you could drop if you want the helicopters.

The shieldbearer rules specifically state that the character is "mounted" on the shield. +1 strength seems likely, and even if you think it's ambiguous, it's better to err on the side of the less powerful interpretation.

I agree that the champions are largely not needed. Unless a unit is going to include a character (in which case a champ opens up more options involving challenges), a champ is generally an unnecessary expenditure. Musicians, OTOH, are almost always useful.

Yes, he's mounted (kinda), but the gw rules themselves in brb tell quite specifically in which cases you get only +1 str and the cases don't mention shieldbearers (chariots, monsters etc. are of course mentioned). Not having the brb in front of me unfortunately makes my point kinda shaky, as I have to go with my poor memory.

That point (not)withstanding, the gw is a good buy on lord on shieldbeares if he isn't equipped with any runic weapon as even str 5 makes hurting rank and file that much easier.

Isn't your lack of ranged quite disturbing? I mean, I just don't feel safe myself without at least three war machines and my thunderers.
