as per jamsession's request, im posting my quickly built Zagstruk for my ork horde. as stated before, once you see the rules for ol' zaggy, he is pretty much a staple in any and all ork hordes. str 9 powerklaws hitting at I 4 on the charge is pretty amazing. he will be leading a full squad of vulcha boyz, along with a second nob leading another full squad of stormboyz.

i also threw together a snikrot really quick. fast platic card blades, and a few heads and skulls and WAZZZZAM, instant behinf enemy lines goodness. im making him on a csutom large base that has an IG officer totally unaware of the fact that he is about to be skewered from nostril to butthole.

anyways, both of these models are pretty much done, as i have a ZILLION other things on my plate i cant be taking to long on thesemodels. a few tweaks for ol' zaggy and its off to the priming bench.

enjoy

Zag has ld9, that's his best attribute. Charging when he deepstrikes is way too risky, since deploying a ork squad within 6" of an enemy unit before scatter is pretty risky, since you've average scatter is 7" in direction x. If you land out of range, you'll be in rapidifre range. If you land on top of the unit, you're dead. To land safely within 6" is more unlikely than being stranded or scattering ontp of the unit. The Initiative attacks are nice, no doubt, but it's not really spectactular, Zag is still untargettable. He won't even make marines strike back less. His impact is mostly felt against I3 and worse targets, and they are killed just as effectively by normal boyz. I think the whole "OMG ZAG Init4 POWERKLAW LOL" boom will blow over when people actually play him. You have to deepstrike in every game. You'll deepstrike off target pretty often. If you get charged, all Zag has is a choppa, so the unit can't even dent decently armored targets...

But, onto the modelling. I think Zag looks very nice, and good spinoff from the Ein design on the legs. I think the legs look a bit long for an ork, but othervise good. The choppa is kinda huge, but it works for a "hero/named" character, making him look suitably imposing.

As for Snikrot, he's cool, tho the huge blades do detract from a "sneaky" look quite a bit. Why's one blade reversed, with the sharp edge pointing inwards? The mini-diorama base is a cool idea, tho I wonder if it's a bit big for gaming with, not to mention that's it's a square...

Cheers

Cool.

That Rokkit is a good fit for Zagstrukk, actually. Choppa is massive, but I suppose that's a taste thing. I do like how you based him, too, and the use of actual power klaw bits on his feet is a nice shortcut.

Also, really, Jutami; just have a little faith. Everything orks do is risky, but blind luck will often see it through, and if you end up losing an entire unit to deep striking, so be it. Every once in a while you have to set tactics aside and let Gork (or Mork) handle things.

Nice work, and I can only assume you're splurging 10 min to paint them both

The choppas I do think are a tad big, like OOTT big, or is this a theme with your orks? Actually thinking about your Deffwing's Chappy, I think it is
