Make sure to get the codex with the white skull on the front that says second edition printing. It should have wyches with an invulnerable close combat save and Wych Lords in it along with the other stuff.
Talos move 6" and assault 6". They are a skimmer but don't get any skimmer bonuses except for moving through cover. It is a monstrous creature but has its own
AP rule that makes worse than a true Monstrous Creature. It is the only thing that blocks
LOS in the army so you can hide a few things behind it. To top it off, it only gets
D6 attacks, no extra +1 for 2
ccw's even though it clearly has 2, and maybe +1 for charging. If it gets into
CC then you will do well, but without
WWP getting there and your opponent just moving away is the problem. The shooting weapon is awful, and is not up to par with other Dreadnaught models. Talos with Haemonculi make good units though, flamer and what not
3 Squads of Bikes is a lot, they are mainly tank hunters and they are considered Eldar Jetbikes for that 6" assault move, per the wargear book. Troops are the bread and butter of
DE, while Wyches and even Mandrakes serve a good role.
Ravagers are great, and with a bit better armor so they are the class of the Heavy section.
DE are being redone this year, the whole model line from what we hear. The codex is being reworked, but I doubt a whole lot will change, just bringing it inline with the 4th edition and new structure of units. Incubi becoming elites and retinue's going away being one of those that is likely. So 2008, 2009 may see a whole slew of goodness for
DE. Soulstorm comes out as well, Dawn of War game that has them in it.
Nice to see others thinking of Dark Eldar and planning them as an army.
