Hey guys, Does anyone know what the firing arc on the shuriken catapult/cannon mount on the underside of the Eldar tanks is. I always assumed it was the standard fixed weapon firing arc. Recently, I played against an Eldar player who insisted that the mount was actually a turret and had a 360' arc. If the weapon indeed is 360' does it still get that arc if it is immobilized?

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

I think they got rid of firing arcs in 4th edition.

They use to have them in 3rd (for example a dreadnought can fire 180 degree to the front).

Now I think they are only limited by LOS from the weapon (for example, a Land Raider shooting its TL Lascannons to the opposite side of there mount.

But I am by no means a rules guru.

The underslung turrets on my Eldar grav tanks swivel 360--which I gladly demonstrate to anyone who asks.

The model kit is designed so that the underslung driver's turret isn't supposed to be glued in place. It actually swings all the way around.

@Blackmoor, Page 64 of the BGB covers firing arcs for vehicles in 4th ed. BTW, walkers have a 180" arc.

Interesting.

I remember seeing them in Chapter Approved for 3rd edition. Maybe that was when they introduced them.

Darrian,

By the RAW you draw line of sight from the weapon mount (where the weapon is mounted to the vehicle).

Since the Shuriken Cannon is mounted on the bottom of the vehicle it does indeed have the ability to draw line of sight in any direction (360 degrees).

Thanks John, that makes perfect sense.

BTW, you ever gonna drive out to Game Empire for a game with us? We have an RTT on the 12th.
