Well I was asked what Ork army DO I have a problem with.
So here are two, both I think are troublesome for everyone--the 180 Orks are troublesome, but you really can kill a ton of Orks and not lose much in return.
These lists, you will have a hard time punking these lists even with lists designed to kill them.
------------------------------------------------------------------
The Mek's army.
Big Mek, Ammo Runt. 35.
Nobz, Elites. 10 Nobz, Painboy, 1 Klaw. Trukk. 285 points.

1997 Points.
Comments:
Run all 9 Trukks up. Cover your Killa Kans from enemy fire. They'll come in useful later.
The nobs are most likely going to get shot out of their trukks, so no rokkits on those trukks. FNP helps the nobs survive. When it's your turn, any nobs that survived should put a serious crunch into the enemy.
The Orks are there to do whatever they can to add to the confusion, but are backup tank killers and with so many shots/attacks on the backs of vehicles or into infantry will put a hurt on people. Any of your Boyz Trukks that survive should also shoot at tanks while doing their best to block mobile units LOS to your killa kans.
The Killa Kans can affect most skimmers, so they can't really escape by boosting past you--in effect, you have skimmer armies in a vice. Other armies you have them in a shooty hell from turn 2 on, and you can effectively close combat anyone on the ground. Morale is an issue, but your Killa Kans aren't afraid. Keep moving them forward, most lines of fire into them should be blocked and with so many Orks to deal with from turn 2 on, it's very likely that you'll get the Killa Kans into battle on turn 4. Right when most of your Orks are toast, and your nob units have been dealt with. Right when things start looking good, the gretchin show up and it's downhill from there.

(Here's what Stelek's twin would say)
Sucky list. Orks aren't fearless under 12 and they will be under 12 when I shoot them. Here's how it goes.
Turn 1: I shoot trukks and they die
Turn 2: I shoot any left over trukks and they die. Next I drop a Librarian in a Drop Pod and scare your whole army off the table.
Jeesh you people I have won or placed in every tournament I've been in when painting, comp, and sportsmanship don't count and I know what I'm talking about. I haven't lost since the Harding administration, but any tournament in the Eastern or Central time zone is a waste of time and boring so they don't count.
(This is only what Stelek's twin would say about this list)
I would say I like nobz squads with painboys and I like Flash Gitz with painboyz. I'm not sold on the trukk units as troop choices. An Ard boyz unit is good in a trukk because their 4+ save protects them when they charge in. 6+ save Orks aren't as good in trukks.

Funny!
Maybe you didn't notice the 21 targets in this list.
It's a bit much to shoot.
Not sure what the eastern or central jabs about, I've been to Chicago, Philly, Baltimore, etc.
Why don't you think Ork Boyz in trukks are any good? They aren't good in small amounts, but when there are 30 nobs on my side of the table--Orks in invincible trukks are great, I'm most likely too bloody busy to bother with them until the nobs are taken care of.
Or would your priority be the Ork Boyz and let the nobs run around? Are you worried about taking S3 hits? They don't get re-rolls, ya know. I'm more worried about passing my pinning test. Hell I can only hope my trukks get shot to pieces, more blown up results are good!
By the way, thanks for at least 1 post that was polite.

In the first couple of turns I wouldn't consider the Killa Kans as much of a threat as the 9 Trukks. Now 9 Trukks are a lot, but they might have trouble moving over each other if my army was concentrated in one corner. In that way I could concentrate any str 4 weapons on the closest Trukks and work my way back from there. Kareening out of control right near me could happen, but that unit would be knocked down from 12 to about 8-9. If you are playing against Choir Nids you will be pinned at that point. Against everyone else you'll probably be ok. Hopefully a countercharge unit of Terminators will take care of any Nobz that get in the lines.
I thinka gainst static safh lists you'll have a chance to overwelm them if you go first. Whoa be the shooty Marine list with emperor's tarot.
The bigger problem is more mobile lists. Mech Eldar/Tau, Steel Legion, etc... Something with lots of vehicles. These vehicles can move around and pick apart even more trukks. Once the Orks gets unloaded they will be in big trouble and the only thing the vehicles would fear are some lone rokkits that hit on 5's.
I think a pair of Warbosses on bikes would go a long way in helping the 9 trukks get across the board in better condition. I'm not sure about the Kans. If your trukks work and get the assault, then the Kans aren't shooting much of anything with their 18" range guns. Are you hoping to get them into assault as well, eventually? That would make better sense as long as they didn't get into combat with krak grenade wielding csm. Ahhh... the irony of it all.... :-)

Well I didn't want to cookie cutter from one list to another.
Besides, I was asked specifically to make Killa Kans not suck donkey nuts.
Did my best.
Hitting on a 6 with 9 attacks spread around 3 kans isn't going to make me go 'oh no'. Will it for you??

Well if you wanted the Kans in there, then by all means leave them in. They will be fine. Consider them the cleaners of the list. Whatever survives the first wave of Orks, gets cleaned up by the second wave of Kans.
Hitting on 6 with nine attacks won't bring the house down, but it's a chance. I am very big on giving units a chance to do something. Regular marines wouldn't even have a chance unless they bought a fist. The more units that have a 'chance' then the more chances you have to do something.

Marines with a fist have a problem, don't they hit 1 unit at a time in CC? So the other kans go crazy till the one in base with the PF dies?
Seems like it might be annoying lol.
Oh and I don't like Kans but apparently others have their hearts set on 'em.

At 2K my standard marine list should have little to no problem dealing with the Trukks on the first turn. My Tau how ever will need to do alot of hitting and running. For that list I can hit up to 18 targets a turn on average with the current layout but if the orks get to close to my lines I will have almost no chance of surviving combat. The lack of a warboss on a bike might but the only thing this list is missing. If you can squeeze him in some how I think it will be a real threat.
