Hello!

Let's say we have an Independant Character and a 5 man bodyguard/retinue he can't leave (Archon and 5 Incubi, for example.) If three of the bodyguard die, does the unit still score?

On one hand, Independant Characters do not score.
On the other hand, in this example the Independant character is part of a unit he cannot leave, and the unit is not below 50%.

I know that for victory point purposes, they all count as seperate entities. But the question at hand deals with their status as a scoring unit.

Comment welcome!

Since the scoring unit status is found on the Victory Points Table, and is never shown to be seperate from victory points, Im going to have to say they count as seperate entites.

I'd treat the retinue in the same way as any other unit that an IC has joined, just that the IC cannot voluntarily leave coherency.

The status of a scoring unit is only determined by the VP table. So if the unit itself is under 50% (regardless of the presence of an IC) the unit is no longer a scoring unit.
