EX warseer usualy gets the hotest news, thanks to brimstone and some other saints

The Warhammer Forums are nice for Warhammer goodness.

Privateer Press has crazy terrainers and such.

It depends on what you're looking for.

Ork mods? Go to the waaagh.

RAW interpretations, go to Dakka.

For many years dakka has been the place to go to for 40k rules interpretations.
It also used to be a real hotbed of conversions and painting (Snord, barphranges, etc) but the last couple of years its slowed alot. I'd love to see people posting more paint jobs and modelling (I'm loving the terrain and table posts) of every standard and make it the hotbed of activity that it used to be.

Warseer (and portent before it) have the niche of the best news and rumours reporting.

These types of threads seem to pop back up every few months. I just want to mention that miniature gaming is a community and that all forums fill a niche in this community in some way.

Visit one, some or all as they fit your tastes.

So in short: please refrain from 'bashing' any other forums in this thread (I know it hasn't happened yet, but I guarantee it would have at some point in this thread).

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

Somewhere in south-central England.

For wide coverage of TTGs rather than just GW The Miniatures Page is the place to go.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Not just the 'RAW board', dakka seems to be the board that leans more towards tournament players.

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

There really is not "best" hobby website.

The best forums though have a niche that they do better than the others.

The reason the painting content has dropped off is due to the blowhards that have to criticize everything they see.

The painting (and project log) areas are really starting to pick up again now - every month for the last 3 months has been a record month in terms of new posts in those forums and we have some big plans for encouraging more painting and modelling* content so over the next year we will hopefully be able to see and enjoy more and more cool things there.

I learned how to paint from the Internet. All the bad
habits are my own, and all the good ones I learned here
on Dakka. I didn't know what the gaming/hobby community
was when I got into it, and so I had to find stuff online.

There are comments I know how to ignore and ones that
I recognize as valuable. Unless you're posting a picture of
your genitals in response to everything I post, I haven't
really had a problem with the comments I get.
