The heads are from pig iron productions http://www.pig-iron-productions.com/order.htm

And the guns and grav-chutes are from Hasselfree miniatures http://www.hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk/catalog.php

Cheap and a great service from both (Hasselfree especially ... strangely enough).

For some odd reason, I really dig the upside-down side-handled special weapons. It's a kind of unique look for them.

Well I'm not a fan of metal mini's least of all in a guard army, and it was just the best way to get them to fit. My only gripe is they are kinda hueg.

I really like the look of the heads and the guns. Nice work.

The conversion looks pretty simple, too!

In the 20 seconds that I've seen the heads, I went from disliking them, to having them grow on me. Your grav chutes suit your troops well. However not a fan of those carbine looking rifles.

Love the poses however, and the idea for a plasma guy using a marine plasma gun, starts to fill my head with ideas.

You've done great work here. Also, appreciate the links, there are a few heads I wouldn't mind buying.

Hell yes.

The bitz fit perfectly- better than the Cadian heads, in fact. The facelessness is the best part of those helms. I really hope you don't add any screaming air-stabbing officers sans headgear.

And I'm a fan of the carbines. They're distinctive.

Name suggestion for the planet: Icarus VI
Maybe a little obvious, but...

EDIT: Just looked at Pig Iron's site: Hope you do a better paint than they did, though.

Hrm. Would those gas masks look out of place on Guardian
bodies, do you think?

Most human heads do but I'm intrigued what do you have planned?

Savnock wrote:I really hope you don't add any screaming air-stabbing officers sans headgear.

Well I do have one officer planned who is going to be helmet less with a bandanna, cigar and a bolter but thats just because he's my HQ choice and I want a little personality amongst the drones. Rest assured though he will not be stabbing the air, pointing, or any other of the stupid behavior that officers in the 41st millennium tend to do.

Nah the plastic guns are from Warzone: 80 plastic soldiers in a bag

that'll give you 32 plastic shotguns, 32 assault rifles, 8 pistols (2 varieties), and 8 mini guns (2 varieties) along with the actual troops and kit bags. The figures aren't very detailed and have limited poses but they are a good source of bits, especially the heads (I would have used them but they didn't fit with my high tech theme).

Go here: LINK

The annoying thing is that the minimum order is 20 euros (before delivery costs) and the bag of soldiers is 19.95 euros so your gunna have to buy something else as well.

If I ever end up having any stormtroopers they are going to be armed with the pulse rifles.

I dont know that I dig the no faces thing. Also the face masks lack detail. THe respirators that forge world sells are more detailed. Seems like a cop out of painting more complicated models. (Sorry, i play guard so im more critical of IG models, not that I am mr. golden daemon, although somday....)

I think it fits guard perfectly "Millions of the mouthless dead". It dehumanizes them, it makes them as lacking in personality as there equipment. In essence they are nothing more than equipment to be packed up, shipped off, and put to use until such a point they no longer function. Or at least if I decide to get deep that is how I'll explain it or failing that simply that I like the lack of detail. It may sound odd but I like the smooth streamligned design.

smart_alex wrote:The respirators that forge world sells are more detailed.

I'm not willing to spend £72 (not including delivery) on heads alone. Especially when they are not what I want in the first place.

smart_alex wrote:Seems like a cop out of painting more complicated models.

What the hell is that suppossed to mean? I chose the heads because I'm a lazy painter as opposed personal preferance?
