Switched computers but still using Firefox, Dakka didn't show me new posts
since my last visit. What made that symbol disappear?

It was unusual to me because when I login at work the
new posts feature worked.

I'm doing an overhaul of the 'read threads' stuff at the moment anyway, so I think it is just a combination of autologin, session timing and cookies that did it for you.
