Hey Guys, this is my first post here in the Modeling & Painting section of dakka dakka.
I am currently Working on a small blood raven army for my local shop. 500 pts.

I am on to my scouts but I am unsure about the camo for the backs.
this is the idea i had.
Comments? Crits? Anything is appriciated.

sorry for the bad photo its pretty quick shot, its also a quick rough painting, if you guys like it i will do a better test swatch.

The capes for the scouts is that gray that its painted on.

Hard to say. Which part is the cloak? all of it? If so, it
seems kind of busy on the outer edges. Or is it going
to be just the splotches in the center?

looks like a palette to me hehe, I used to do that to test out schemes too.

looks good composition wise, but imo the larger brown blochtes could be a little more Tiger Stripey, I did a similar pattern on some IC a few years ago but used Bilious green for the dots.

@Malfred Well the dark grey is the color, so grey is the main color followed by scorched brown, beastil Brown iyanden darksun dots with pure white in the center.

@KIL KIL KIL Yeah thats a good idea, i'll make up another cupple of swatches tomorrow morning, Too tired right now.

Sparty, I think we need fully painted models, right now.

Do you think you could have 500pts done by the end of February?

By the end of Feb? For sure my 500. Maybe even into my 1k army.

I agree 100% though, lets get it done.

Anyway, Just a quick update, I decided to go with what I had and painted up one of the scouts cloaks.
This army is also suposed to be more of a tabletop quality, so the cape is a bit rough. mainly so I can finaly finish an army.

Comments and Crits appriciated.

I dig it, nice work Sparty.

I think those will look great, even when they get picked off by my not-so-well-painted Eldar.

I dig the colors a lot, but the "big dot" style looks a little out of scale cloak wise, it would look better as thin, intermittent outlines around the larger brown areas (which look great BTW)

Ok, so another quick update.

I was looking at the camo for a while during dinner and realized I actually hated it, so I went back and came up with a similar style, but much better result. IMO.

C&C always appriciated.

go to - http://www.thecourtjestersstudio.com/WPM/home.html
and read their tips on different ww2 camo paint schemes - seems really informative. i love the way that they also give a picture of an actual uniform for comparison.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
