Subject: Drop pod Marine list ... ready for GT

This is my GT ready list ... all models completely built .. 85 % painted
Traits - Heed the Wisdom/Cleanse & Purify Drawback - Eye to Eye
HQ - 160
Libby/fear/might/T.armor/bp/force ( DEEPSTRIKING )
Elites - 765
Termis ( 3 SQUADS DEEPSTRIKING )
2x AC/PF
2x SB/PF
1x SB/PW
Troop - 975
Tac Marines ( 5 SQAUDS DEEPSTRIKING )
2x Meltaguns
6x bolters
Drop Pod W/ Deathwind
Heavy - 600
V. Dread ( 3 SQAUDS DEEP STRIKING )
AC/H. Flamer/EA
Drop Pod W/ Deathwind
Total - 2500
The main tactic to this army is early denial ( choosing to go second ) making my opponent lose 2 shooting turns.. then whatever drops from my list in round 2 will focus fire on my enemys key units ... dreads will focus on killing infantry ... termis will focus on skimmers ... tac squads will focus on infantry or heavy tanks ... while the drop pods lay down 1 or 2 DW plates a round ....
played against new orks last night and came up with a solid victory
what does everyone think ... what changes should be made, if any
thanks ahead of time

The melta squads should be six guys. No point in wastin that 150 points.
Libby should have a termie squad on him so he can have furious charge imho, but others disagree with me on that
Looks OK!

i really like the deathwind launchers, because with 8 pods of the board i end up with 2-3 hits a turn ... and that can very irritating... and im hoping that makes the pods a bigger target .... as far as which GT this is for .... its not for any one ... its a solid base to be modified to proper pts. cost for any tourny

Wow, a GT with 2500 pts!
By the way, a model in terminator amour cannot take a bolt pistol. My Epistolary has a storm shield.

I would get combi flamers on all of those terminator SGTs by dropping a single terminator and adding the Librarian to the unit this can be accomplished also get a combi flamer on the Librarian otherwise it looks fairly solid.

Just happy that I will be taking an Inquisitor with 3x mystics. Drop pod away brotha.
I would look at your libs gear and try to have a squad for him to join ahead of time. This will allow him to have a skill to help him out over all.

have you had alot of success with combi weapons .... i have never seen them used well ... and they are kinda expensive ... so i have always stayed away from them....
any recs. on how to outfit my libby better .... i need to stay in the 160 range for him ... because i dont wanna change up my list too much

Combi Plasma and Combi Melts are complete suckage because the one shot and they miss is a huge issue. However with the combi flamer they cost 5 points on a sgt. and never miss and can potentially do more damage than an assault cannon against lightly armored hordes.
