Make it at least every 2 weeks. Every 3-4 weeks is too far out for me to remember, 2 weeks will keep it fresh. I understand (As a married man) how this may prove difficult, good luck!

Try including a format that people know they can count on. IE I would be interesting in a 'Tactical Tip of the week' section, where you guys discussed a popular build/strat...how to beat/use it, etc etc. Another great would be 'conversion tip' or 'alternative model' tip. You could easily tie in an advertisement here as well.

Hey thanks for the suggestions! We will definatly try to work those in! We will try our hardest to have new episodes every two week! All three of us are married men, but despite that we try our hardest.

I also thought you guys did a pretty good job. The humor is good. I would suggest you have the various rules/codices around so you can give accurate info. I would also tone down the language because I doubt many parents are going to let their kids listen as you have it now. Also, get yourself into iTunes.

I agree that every two weeks would be better but the most important thing is to be consistent. Podcasts that just come out whenever are annoying.

Random thoughts in no particular order

I listened to it and it was great. Reminded me of some of the great conversations you can get into with your gaming buddies.

Although I enjoyed every minute of it, it was a tad bit long. I had to listen to it in 3 sessions. Perhaps a 30 or 60 minute format would be better. That way, you also save something to talk about next episode

Every 2 weeks would be great, even if it is a 30 minute episode.

If time constrainsts prevent you from getting together often, perhaps you could record 90 to 120 minutes once a month, but release 30 minute episodes weekly.

I've read that one of the secrets of success for web shows is to release OFTEN. I really do believe it works. I subscribe to a few webshows on the net and the most popular ones release 2-3, 5-10 minutes episodes, a week.

This put a smile on my face.

I registered with iTunes and I can listen to it there. However I can't search for the show! I apologize to everyone for this. We are wtill new at this here at 40k Radio. Any help wiht iTunes would be appreciated.

First, Kudos for getting 40k onto the internet Airwaves. I think as you are just starting up, you'll be a benefit overall to the gaming community. While it now seemed a bit amaturish, I think once you grow your wings, you'll probably be pretty entertaining.

Good work though! I'd stay away rules theory, as it seems a bit Armchair quarterback. ( another poignant quote: "of course skimmers are hard to kill, they're skimmers!"). I think it would be great to point you segments more towards deeper level unit tactics, Cool army/modelling ideas, and the odd product review. It might give your a show a bit more of "we're veteren gamers imparting knowledge" and less "this is what we copy/pasted from the forums"....

this sounds interesting. Ill check it out when I get home. So DAKKA people are running it?

As far as beer goes we are huge fans of microbrews. The current favorite is Lion's Head by Lion Brewery, Inc. in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. But any microbreww is great. We are also in Western Pa if you are ever in Erie let us know we would love to have guests on the show.

ps. Did you get you forum name from SkullSplitter Beer? Tha is a well named brew! woke up the next morning and thought i had an axe in the middle of my forehead!!

I hate to be too critical guys but none of you really stand out personality wise.
It bulk of the show is 'I like statements' such as 'I like orks, so let me talk about them for the next XX minutes,' or 'I don't like this rule because it's too unrealistic too me.'

Let me state that I have no problem drinking and talking about 40k, existentialism, economics, biology, ect but if you guys really want to make it as a pod-cast I'd try to get a little bit above everyone bull*&*&*& about 40k. A little bit of structure wouldn't hurt. Also if your going to do thing such report 5ht ed rumors you might try reading the pdf going around rather than read the rumors straight of other peoples posts. Be thoroughly researched and knowledgeable about what your going to discuss. When ever you make blatant rule errors of air it hurts you guys.

That aside I hope you guys have the best of luck getting this thing off the ground.

This is a very conversational show. We do not want the show to ever sound like it's scripted. We have opinions about things and like to share them. The first episode is a good example of how our show will be. We have gotten many positive comments on this forum, as well as countless others. Those are the people we are catering to, people of like mind. We enjoy getting emails from people who point out our mistakes. Let's us know they are listening and allows us to "meet" our listeners in the form of conversation. We will never claim to be the definiative source. We will make mistakes. The important thing is that you were entertained, or inspired or motivated.

That being said, if you like to have a more structured news type of show check out The Drop Pod Cast, they do a great job of covering GW as a whole.
