Spreading the word of the Turtle Pie

I thought up something and was wondering if it was worth it...

12 burna boyz-180
Looted wagon-35
Skorcha-15
red paint job-5
total:235

Is it worth it for drive-by flamings?

It's always worth the fun!

But well, it's true, there will always be something to go wrong with this.
If not, the enemy will make it go wrong.

Against enemies that you can kill with flamers-the Skorcha alone will probably get the job done-a squad of Pathfinders, Kroot, or Guardsmen and the like will probably run after taking a few casualties, and it's not worth devoting the resources to finishing them off. And if the main weapon did not finish them, it was probably due to their being spread out-something not easily solved without disembarking the Burnas.

Against enemies that you do need all those templates for (big Marine squads, other masses of Orks, etc.), the range of times you're better off flaming them than charging them with power weapons would seem to be fairly limited.

yeah, I was thinking about tthat too. obviously, the main problem is the survivability (or something like that) of the looted wagon. with it's 11/11/10 and open-topped it's almost as easy to kill as a shadow barge or whatever they're called. the new vehicle rules may change that.

still, it would be damn fun. and ith that, always a reason to take in Apoc. which would make a Big Mek with Bruna an KF a viable edition.

may be a good opportunity for a self designed vehicle....

Unless I read something wrong, I think the new Trukk Konvoy lets you buy undedicated trucks (Model requirements: +3 Ork Trukkz or some such)-pop the Burnas in there.

Go for it! Mind you, I'd suggest sticking the Burna Boyz in a Battlewagon so the engine doesn't crap out at inconvenient times.

If your looking to take it for sheer fun, its sounds awesome, would be alot of fun to convert a custom wagon, and would just be down right funny. Unfortunately thats where the practicality ends, it just wont help that much except against low LD armies or maybe nids.

could be fun, although I do condone the usage of a battlewagon instead.

Paper attack! What can you do about a PAPER ATTACK!

it may be more useful, but a battlewagon can't have a scorcha

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

It is an excuse to take a looted wagon thats all. as a trukk substitute, but is thast worth an HS slot. I doubt it.

I would take a battlewagon instead. In 5th you might evict a squad of sluggas from their trukk and use that if you wanted a taxi. But for drivebys you need something that will last.

Battlewagons with four big shootas, give your burna mob three meks with big shootas, with the rest flamey death, maybe threre of four actual burnas is all you need. It would make a nasty tank, nd if you put the mek models on the tank model they can repair it as it moves.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
