Note: NORTH AMERICA ONLY (not even sure about Canada).

When they ask about where you heard about their games, be sure to list places like dakka, Tabletop gaming news and the miniatures page (assuming you use any of them). Gotta remind people how important these sites are and besides don't you want Yak to get free stuff? Of course you do.

Nah, I hit my limit of prepainted minis with the D&D stuff. I'll give these to my Star Wars GM to bribe away bad rolls.

I love the Star Wars prepainted minis.

I use them when I play the D6 Star Wars RPG.

What are these minis like? Has anyone ever converted one (or more) for use in 40k?

Well, I could run some numbers for you to help you decide, but according to popular opinion, math doesn't make any difference in 40k, so why bother. So instead, I'll recount a completely unverifiable, anecdotal piece of evidence to leverage my position.

One time, I had 8 Berzerkers charge some blood claws, and all the blood claws were killed. Another time, a squad of Grey Knight Terminators charged my berzerkers in cover, and my Berzerkers killed them all. Another time, my berzerkers got shot before they could reach the enemy, and another time they won me 100 bucks because a guy didn't believe I painted them myself, and he bet against me.
See how helpful that was?

I know a way you could find out for free

They're decent prepaints, soft plastic (like heroclix) about the right scale for 40k. Some of the big droids and monsters would make great basis for conversion.

LOL I accually did the survey and when it asked for where I get my mini info, I plugged Dakka. Then I read you post. About the Might Yak getting free stuff, I think that would be reason enough for us to fill the survey. If I don't like any of the models, I just give them to my daughters.

Bah, just wait for the new Soulcaliber game. Depending on what game system you get will determine which one you get. :S
