So with the new cover rules, tanks can get 5+ or 4+ cover saves (and ocasionaly a 3+). Farseers with fortune allow a single eldar unit to re-roll failed saves. All I got to say is screw the loss of the skimmer moving fast rules, falcons just became even more unkillable than ever before.
Eldarad and 2 falcons anyone?

Get O.J. Simpson's and maybe you could argue it. I don't have the codex in front of me for the exact wording but I imagine it comes down to the meaning of unit.
Also in the new edition falcon are more vulnerable to high str weapons. I think it would work better on falcons.

Actually, I think it will be most beneficial to warwalkers.

I checked the exact codex wording and it says you can reroll any failed saves. It doesn't specify what kind of saves it just says saves. The 5th edition book as it has been leaked says that you can make a save if you are obscured...it later goes on to describe them as cover saves but in both cases they are referred to as saves which would be covered by the wording of fortune.
That aside, yes it would be the most useful to use fortune on squads of vehicles such as walkers (the place I'm most likely to put mine) or vypers.
Oh and if you want to argue the definition of unit, its defined in the 5th edition book:
“A unit will usually consist of several models that fight as a group, but it can also be a single, very large and/or powerful model, such as a battle tank, a monstrous alien creature or a lone hero.”
But that's basically what a unit has always been anyway.

Yea, I have run into people who don't think tanks are covered in "unit", but really a unit is anything you paid points for in the force org chart.

The only problem with they philosophy is that Eldrad will need to be in or behind another unit or he will be litup by Las canons and missile launchers. No more untargetable ICs.

definately Warwalkers, and don't forget to guide those puppies.
Let's go back to our basic 40k: A Falcon is a transport, that puppy is meant to FLY. It's still pretty good if maybe ... 15 pts too pricey? No more than it, if at all.

Don't forget, also, that in the 5e rules that I read, psykers can use their powers inside transports. (Read the section about Access and Fire points dealing with transports).
So, your farseer can be happily on board one of the falcons he's fortuning.

Doesn't that Firing Ports rule cover powers used in the Shooting Phase only?
This will make Farseers on bikes even more vital for mech Eldar. Keeping that Fortune up after turn one will be hard without one.
I will repeat my earlier assertion that a Farseer Starting Line will be the standard treatment for transports in 5th if the rules stand as they are. Serpents will benefit more than Falcons. I'm totally painting up a chequered flag on a wraithbone flagpole as an objective marker.
I really hope the design folks don't adjust the final draft to disallow fortuning saves for our transports. That would remove the silver lining from 5th for all mech Eldar players.
