just thinking of building one mainly for apoc games.. but might be fun to field with my KOS just for kicks.

from a strategic angle.. would he do better with:

In trukk options:

11 regular boyz w/ or w/o nob
11 'ard boyz w/ or w/o nob
either option with cybork bodies?

a squad of meganobz in trukk w/ cybork bodies (costly but brutal)

I'm not at the point of going as far as building another battlewagon.. but it would be fun to have a bunch of cybork burnas w/ FNP

I'm kinda leaning towards building a set of 'ard boyz and just running the 4+ w/ FNP. I don't thing 15pts a piece is worth it to have the 4+ then 5+ inv.. for what I'd send them against atleast.

but since I haven't modeled the boyz I'd love the input on making them cyborks.. such consideration should be done in advance.. though in playtesting nobody has given me grief over saying that "doc's juice gives them invulnerable saves and FNP" kinda like the RTS

Thoughts?

If you keep the meganobz small they'll cost you the same with cybork bodies as your 'Ard boyz unit would cost with cybork. The 'Ard Boyz turn into Expensive wannabe Death Company if you stick the dock in there and give them cybork.

better you think to have massed powerklaw action then.. only 1 less wound for the squad and all the attacks ignore armor so it's worth considering.

anyone else?

It probably doesn't fit in the KoS theme, but I tried running Dok with a full ard boyz squad, its expensive as hell, but it paid off as it was pretty damn hard to kill 30 boyz with 4 T, FNP, and a 4+ save, not to mention two power klaws hidden inside with Dok and Nob. Maybe 19 ard boyz with Dok in the battlewagon?

If anything, it is fun to try.

I'm going for 11 in a trukk w/ dok if I do anything. at the very least its a good start. I'm kinda feeling like regular nobz are seriously pricey... and ard boyz may very well be able to do similiar damage.. worth playtesting atleast.

Yes the eavy armor/cybork bodies troops are way to expensive. BUT YOU DROPPED THE WRONG SAVE! Keep the cybork ditch the eavy armor and your in business.

BUT! since this is for appocalypse how bout

THE GREEN TIDE! 100+ orcs that you have no contorl over what could be better!

I don't agree about dropping the 4+ and keeping the 5+.... odds are better with the 4+.. yes more vulnerable to power fists but I can always place the doc in base with the fisty dude and use his poisoned weapon attacks to try to kill him first.

lol.

Definately prefer 5++ over 4+. And I think the 4+ is unnessary when you have FNP on top of the 5++.

Putting them in a trukk and throwing them at the enemy could definately work. What I was thinking was 10 Mega Nobz with the Mad Doc (with Cybork), and then you put stuff on either side of them to make sure they keep walking in the right direction.

I think the only real disadvantage to the mad doc is he takes up one of those excellent HQ choices.

The odds are "sligtly better" against things that aren't ap 4 or better. you will make the 4+/4+ 75% of the time the 5+/4+ 66% of the time. However against HB, plasma, Loota's power weapons and PK the 5+ works out to be far better protection.

But hey they are your troops run them the way you want. Me however I will take a 5+ invul over eavy armor any day of the week.

And seriously Grotsnik just cries out to be put in the Green Tide Guess i know what i'm running next apoc game.
