I was in the middle of a quest with LOTRO when it rebooted.

Except the other times it did that it rebooted again.

90% of the time if your PC reboots in the middle of a game then you have a heat problem. Keep it off for a while to give it a chance to cool down, take the side off and make sure there is plenty of airflow around the guts. Stick an external desktop fan next to it to help the airflow and make sure there is enough ventilation nearby (not near a heater or anything). Of course this all assumes it will turn back on first :(

It turns back on and runs, but there's no signal to video.

There are no system beeps.

No windows noise.

Sounds like an expansion card came loose. Turn it off and unplug it from the wall, then re-seat all the cards in it. Then try it again.

Take it as a sign you should never play LOTRO ever again. Just play World of Dakkahammer and you PC wont be smited!

RAM slot blew out. Something else is happening with the
motherboard right now.

Ok, so RAM slot and RAM stick is dead. The other gig
seems ok.

Diagnosis: Computer was on last legs and LOTRO finally
broke those, too.

Solution: Cancel LOTRO.

Test: Trying World of Warcraft tonight.

The accident gave me an "out" with my LOTRO friends.

It's ok. I don't intend to join any regular raiding guild so it's
mostly going to be open world pvp and levelling alts for me.

I played on a PVP realm for a long time.

World PVP = Daoc.

Treadmill PVP cause our netcode sucks = WOW.

Happen to run across someone else and gank them is not world PVP.

May I have fries with that?

Aren't contested areas kind of like World PVP? If not, how
are they different? (Only level 27 at the moment).

What Stelek is saying is that in DAoC you actually had a reason to do World based PvP. In WoW there really isn't any motivation to do it. There's just more reason to do it in the Battlegrounds. The open areas like that in WoW are just open to level 70s who can't cut it in the Outlands to come back and camp lower levels.

Well here's one thing:

WoW will run on my old computer AND my laptop.

Also, dual boxing isn't that difficult. I just miss a lot of
key abilities in fights.

I have been playing WOW for abot 2 months now.......

It is the best game ever. And I am a cynical dude when it comes to paying for software over and over again...
I have a lvl 53 Warrior-It is an awesome game.

I don't/won't play this as hard as I did other games, just
because I have to balance work life/game...life (oxymoron)

Not too sure about typical malfred?!?!? Am a total noob at it. I have heard of the 'dodgy dens of inequity ' that force young 'uns in impoverished countries play for pay, then sell the Account. Last rumor I heard was that they can get to level 70 in two months. I would'nt doubt it.

I don't play nearly enough to get that high level in a short
span of time.

It doesn't help that my brother and I were having a good
time in those battleground/capture the flag instances.

They are good fun for sure mate. I have not done too many of those, as my first few experiences were a 'Gankfest'.

I play on a US/Oceanic server. Shadowcouncil?!?

If there was a 40k version of it, I would seriously consider signing up for life, lol.

We're running two sets of toons atm.

Main
BM Hunter with his Combat Rogue. Since I found I could
two-box I was considering throwing a Priest in there for
more DPS and emergency heals. I haven't decided yet.

Alt
Protection Warrior and Healing Paladin (two boxed). My
brother will run a Marksman Hunter for DPS.

Deesgusting.
